  1. I walk and carry. I haven't got that many clubs yet so my bag is fairly light
  2. Any special brand or type of clothes and fabrics? Looks over luxury, or vice versa? The local pro speaks warmly about specialized, 'high tech' golf clothes which breaths, keeps you warm, layered ect. Anyone ever tried that kind of clothes? Im personally into looking somewhat decent, but also I want to be comfortable. I love to play in a pique or t-shirt that's not too tight but not too loose either. The best pants imo are loose ones that got a soft and/or thin fabric, depending on the temperature. I try to match atleast 2 cloths - Like black belt that goes to the black shoes, or brown pants that goes to the brownish cap. If it's rainy or windy I use my Galvin Green jacket which is Pac Lite and of Gore-Tex. I also got a very breathable Ashworth jacket, really open underneath the arms, that's great in windy weather. Both jackets are really light, which I love. Takes up litturally no space in my golf bag.
  3. Indeed, what happened to that, hehe. I was so convinced everyone behaved and focused on having a good time when I was first introduced to golf. And in the beginning my first impression was quite right. All the pro's and leaders within the club were really friendly and great to play and talk with. Iv got a good image of both sides now tho. Guess its like that in all sports If I team up with a 'moody' player again, ill let him know if it gets too bad. Just didnt really know how to react. It did completely ruin my gameplay. So hard to focus when you're together with a mad player and it seems like you're in the way all the time.
  4. First guy just asked me if he could come along with me when I was about to start, the second group joined me on hole 2 basically because I felt it would be egoistic to go by myself when there was a decent queue atm. Btw im from Norway and this was at my home course No competition or anything, just a normal day. People just wait around at the starting area if they want to team up with someone. Theres no organized teaming up, its up to the players. GreensDruid beat me to it
  5. He was a midcap player, but his friend who also was with us had HC 36. He played just as I did, and I dont think it was bad at all. We might not have been super fast at all times, partly because we are new but also because there was noone behind us. In his eyes tho his friend played flawlessly, and all I did was wrong, hehe I think what this guy found hard was that I often played better than him. Guess he got frustrated. Just makes the whole round ruined when one player is acting like that. I was hoping he'd hit a great shot each time so he wouldnt whine. I always point out that im new to the game when teaming up with people, and most seem fine with it and are more than willing to give me guidelines and answer whatever questions I might have. Got a bit surprised when I teamed up with such 'bad' players - And *two* times in a row! Yikes.
  6. Yesterday I first played a round with a guy cheating and a second round with one in a bad mood not following the normal etiquette at all. What do you do when you play with people like this? Tbh I didnt know what to do when I saw the guy taking a ball out of his pocket and dropping it, pretending it was there all the time and not in the woods. I probably should have said something tho. The guy in the bad mood kept swearing and yelling when he hit a bad shot, commanding me around, telling me how the game should be played, showing me what I did 'wrong' and so on. Im also completely new to the game, shouldnt he have shown some understanding? So what do you do when you are playing with such people? I just played my game, or tried to, and followed the normal etiquette, but felt like I shouldv said something.
  7. Hehe, not too far away from me. Iv been in Sweden, but never in Finland tho. Hows golfing in Finland? So how was Florida from an european's point of view?
  8. Guess its too sunny or something to get perfect grass, however im not an expert I know of a place thats run by some norwegians, and I think I can get a fairly cheap 2month stay actually. Otherwise im sure many on the forum know of great golf courses. Hope I get to travel and check some new courses out this fall/winter. Cheers!
  9. Hi GreensDruid and thanks :) Many say we got really special courses, so integrated in the nature which is special in itself. Some courses are more 'normal' than others ofcourse, and many of the so called normal courses are located around Oslo. Its the only part of Norway thats pretty flat. Next time you should come here during the summer and try out some of our golf courses. Hows golfing in New Hampshire? Thats almost or just as far north as Norway, isnt it? Actually in southern parts of Norway we can golf all year. Bit cold tho :P I have never been in usa, but iv considered going to Florida golfing. Iv heard they got some great courses and excellent weather. You ever been there?
  10. Hi, my name is Andreas and im a golf addict Just got to say what a great forum! Lucky to bump into it. So many informative posts, have learned lots already Well, I just started golfing this summer. My brother has been golfing for years, and one day I decided to come with him. Didnt take long before I was addicted. What a great game!
  11. Hehe, yeah I have. Hes more interested in selling stuff then helping tho :P
  12. Thanks for the response I have been practising a lot on my short game, and I feel pretty confident when im around and on the green. Also, im pretty confident with all of the irons, even my 4i which is my lowest club in the bag. I "never" miss a shot from the tee anymore, altho I need more practise hitting it from the fairway. Iv done pretty much as you've explained, working my way through all the clubs. Im just wondering if I either should keep focusing on using irons, or should I get 3 and 5 wood + maybe a hybrid and start practising and adding those to my game aswell? Dont know if I will have full use of them, *or* if I dont get started on them it will slow down my progression. Like, will I 'miss out' by only using my irons? Will I be hitting too short? ect. Thanks in advance
  13. Im fairly new to golf, only started playing a month ago. So I get a lot of tips from other golfers, and a lot of them tell me its smart to get really good with all the irons. However all who tell me this are like almost never using their irons! I see them mostly using woods and some hybrid + wedges. If I got it right you hit more accurate with irons and they are more forgiving than woods. But you dont hit that far as woods, or am I wrong? Should I focus getting really good with irons, or buy me some hybrids and woods? *Confused*
