  1. Thanks again! Now when/if faced with this situation again...I will now proceed with confidence.... and have a specific rule to reference if questioned!
  2. Got it... 6.2b! sorry for my struggles finding this. The guy that brought me into this game is the one who recently told me that my re-teeing was illegal and I would need to hit again... but not off of a tee... from a drop. thanks again to all who weighed in on this!
  3. Thanks. Is the part stating “play that ball or another ball....from a tee....”from rule 9.4b?
  4. What I can’t seem to find in any of these references is explicit language that says you can “re-tee”. Most everything states you can take stroke and distance and “drop” as near to where the previous shot was taken. The “drop” verbiage” and “play the ball as it lies” confound it for me.
  5. When I look at rule 6.2 I do not see an express statement that says you can re-tee to hit your 3rd. I had done this and was “corrected” by a buddy saying I had to drop ( no tee) anywhere on a line between the tee box and where it crossed into the water. I get that I could walk up to the waters edge (20 yards in front of the tee box), drop and hit from there. I just want clarification that another option would be to re-tee and hit again( my 3rd) from the same spot I hit the 1st.
  6. On a par 3 over water my tee shot ended up in water. Can I re-tee (hitting my 3rd) or must I hit from the deck?
