  1. Has anyone purchased Footjoy's new Sport Spikeless golf shoes, and if so, can you comment on their comfort and traction? Lew
  2. Can anyone tell me which sunglasses help you read the greens better? Please provide brand name, model name and color of your lenses. Lew
  3. Hstead, what about the stability of the Ecco shoe vs. the True? Lew
  4. Has anyone tried the Biom Hydromax golf shoe with the spikes? They look very interesting. Lew
  5. Shorty, thanks for the info. I am looking at the Biom Hybrid or the Biom Hydromax with the rubber spikes. Lew
  6. Anyone have any experience with Ecco's Biom Hybrid shoe? Looking for comments on comfort, gripping, lateral support, etc. I am thinking of getting a pair off of Ebay, but would like some idea on how they are for those who wear them. Lew
  7. Anyone have comments on the Footjoy Contour Casual golf shoe? I am leaning towards it, but would appreciate additional comments on that shoe by those who have worn it. Lew
  8. Here in Florida, I have to have waterproof golf shoes with all the water they have around many of the courses. When we get a heavy rain, a lot of the rough areas get kind of muddy. Lew
  9. i would like to buy a pair of casual golf shoes like those made by Ecco, Footjoy, Ashworth, Nike, Adidas, etc. Can anyone give me some recommendations on a casual spikeless golf shoe which offers very good comfort, very good stability, and very good traction? Lew
  10. Guys, thanks for you input. I now know exactly how to place the FLOed shafts in my iron heads. Lew
  11. Yes, when I find the FLO I place a piece of tape on the top of the shaft and make a straight line with a marker. So based on what you said, then the 12:00 position is the way the shaft should be installed in the club head, not at the 3:00 position. Lew
  12. LBlack14, I am simply trying to see what the best answer is for aligning a shaft that has been marked in the FLO position. Once you have found the FLO, do you epoxy the clubhead with the FLO mark aligned at the 12:00 position as moparman426 states in his reply? I am just trying to get my set of irons and other clubs properly fit so I can hit the ball without any clubhead wobbling while coming into impact. Lew
  13. I have now found the FLO on the shafts which are in my iron set. How is the club face aligned once you have marked the FLO on the shaft? There have been many discussions on this, but what is the general consensus on how to align the club head? I remember Tim Hewitt of My Ostrich Golf saying align the FLO mark down the target line. Lew
  14. I just started playing around with finding the flo in shafts, but need some input from anyone using this method. I am placing a tip weigh which is 200 grams, then a laser device which is 62 grams. When I pull back the shaft and release it, how do I know when I have found the flo? Should the laser beam on my white background be moving perfectly going back and forth in a straight line or is it a line which appears to be pretty close to straight? Appreciate any help from club makers who FLO shafts. Lew
  15. I have a Wishon putter head that is 375 grams which I have converted to a belly putter. My height is 5' 7 1/2" and currently assembled this head with a Rifle 6.0 iron shaft (used a blank shaft and trimmed it). It feels pretty good and have made very few three putts with it, but it still seems to flex a bit about 3/4s down the shaft. Should I consider putting in a heavier shaft like TTs 209 grams stepless 47 inch putter shaft or use one of those 50 inch (168 grams) ski pole shafts? What appreciate some recommendations from those of you who use or have experimented with belly putters. Lew
  16. I recall some past discussions on adding backweight to drivers, such as Tour Lock screw-in backweights, to help improve driver accuracy and consistency. Has anyone experimented with backweighting their drivers, if so, what type of results did you achieve? Did anyone have great success backweighting a driver? Lew
  17. Topper, I believe you have sold me on the Ping G15. A lot of the situations you mention apply to my game and swing. Many thanks, Lew
  18. Anyone else have any experience hitting either the Ping G15 or G20 hybrid clubs? Lew
  19. Mike, thanks for your input. I will be getting a demo of both clubs and will be hitting them at the driving range later this week. Lew
  20. I am considering replacing my #3 iron with a hybrid. My handicap is +18, but my game is improving. I did some research on the web for these two Ping hybrids. Any suggestions or recommendations as to which of these hybrids would help improve my long iron game would be appreciated. Hitting my long irons, I tend to fade them to the right a bit too much. Lew
  21. I have checked on Taylor Made's website and many others, but could not find what type of stainless steel they use in their Burner Plus irons. I am having them bent by a clubmaker 2 degrees upright. Are these irons 17-3 or 431 stainless steel? I understand that 17-3 stainless steel heads can be tricky to bend for fear of breaking them. Lew
  22. I am leaning towards the Cobra S3 irons now. Lew
  23. I have hit other OEM irons, but these two seemed the best. Lew
  24. I am ready to pull the plug and get a new set of irons. I have been checking at either Callaway's RAZR X irons or Cobra's S3 irons. I have hit both of them and they appear both very nice irons. My handicap is 18, but my game has been improving over the past year. If anyone has played either of the irons or both of them, would appreciate your comments and/or recommendations before buying a set. Lew
  25. I am looking for a new set of irons to replace my Cobra S9 II irons. Narrowed it down to either Callaway's Diablo Edge or RAZR X irons. My handicap last year was 18, but with a new right hip replacement six months ago, I have added some more strokes. I need some recommendations, especially from anyone who has played one or both of these Callaway irons. Pros and cons of each iron would be greatly appreciated. Lew
