  1. Funnily enough I'm just looking into this one now. I might give it a bash, for the amount it costs on ebay if it doesn't work out I've not lost much. The reason for a smaller head is that I won a Progen Full Bore a few years ago and when I swung it I felt like I was playing tennis rather than golf and to me I felt uncomfortable with that size head. Thanks for your advices, please keep them coming. Regards, Tom
  2. I bought some Golf Pride Multi Compound's last year and they're very very good. Good in the wet and dry, a year on and they're still like new. Just be careful when fitting as I have fat shaft's and they're a bugger to get on all the way, use lots of lube.
  3. Hi All, With the new R&A; rules now in forc e in the UK, I need to change my driver. I bought a TM R510 last year and I find it a brilliant club, the only problem was the sound and distance, I felt I wasn't getting enought distance compared to my Steelhead III. My problem is that I want a driver with a head size of no larger than 350cc. Can anyone recomend a good driver below this head size please. I liked my Callaway but it wasn't as straight as the TM, the TM doesn't havew the distance the Cally did. What about Titleist? do they have anything around 350cc? Many thanks Tom
  4. Hi Guys, I'm currently playing with Srixon AD333, which I use to get on really well with, but I've changed my driver and the ball doesn't seem to make a nice sound nor get as much distance as I would have hoped. I was think ing of trying a harder ball. Does anyone know what would be better? I'm thinkning the ball seems to be softer and with the face of the club being more flexable, the ball isn't bouncing off the face. Any ideas? Thanks,
  5. Thanks guys, I managed to take the second gripo off using a bicycle pump so didn't loose that one. I also found that the grip appeared to be getting stuck around the top where there is a manufacturing serial number so I am going to take that off and see if it helps.
  6. Cheers Gas Can, A tip for anyone who tries their hand at this and get's their grip stuck half way and it dries.... Use a bicycle pump with a football adaptor. Put the adaptor in the end of the grip and pump away, the grip will then expand and slide off quite nicely without damaging it.
  7. Thanks Guys, I did use enough solvent and do run my hands along the tape but it seems to just get stuck at the same point, it's not a solvent issue as they go on very easily until that point. I wasn't sure if I had bought a batch of "second's" but the others look ok so thought it maybe the Butt size? Thanks for your help. Regards,
  8. Hi All, I've just purchased a set of Golf Pride Multicompound grips and am trying to fit them to a Proforce Gold 65 shaft but they are not going fully on. Leaving about 1.5 inches to go. I've wasted two grips trying to do this and don't want to waste any more or risk them not fitting any of my other clubs. Does anyone know if these should fit ok? Will they fit my other clubs?? Wilson Deep Red Fat Shaft Irons? Thanks,
  9. That sounds about right, a dull thud as opposed to a tinging sound. If I'm not hitting the sweet spot then I'd like to see it when I do.
  10. That's great chaps, That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you. My Father commented on the sound and said it didn't sound right compared to the Callaway which got me thinking. Thanks again for your help.
  11. Hi All, I bought a Taylor Made 510 a few weeks back and finally got to use it at the weekend. The question I would like answered is "What should it sounds like?" I switched from a Callaway Steelhead III to a 510 because of the weight and size of the sweet spot. I felt I wasn't getting the most I could out of the Callaway, however, it sounded beautiful and made a nice ting sound when I hit it. The Taylor Made doesn't it makes a slapping sound. Is this normal? I bought it off eBay and it DOES have a serial number but I've not seen one hit before. The distance is very good, about 20-30 yards more than the cally so I'm not bothered about that, just wondered if it's alright? Thanks,
  12. When I worked in the golf shop we had a net in there, It was a purpose built net but I don't see why you couldn't make one out of scafolding poles and some strong builders netting. Look at http://www.sportnetting.com/mats.htm?source=overture for a cheap mat and your away. I saw a really good range tee which has adjustable tees to save you lifting up all the time. They're called "practees" and I found them on ebay.co.uk. Not sure about the USA, sorry.
  13. I'd have to say eBay. Find what you want from your local shop, then get it on Ebay. I've saved a fortune. Bought a TM 510 for £20, Odyssey Rossie & Callaway Steelhead III 3wood £50 for both, Full set of DeepRed II Irons Brand New £115. Everything has been excellent with these clubs.
  14. 60 degree RAM Rour Grind, By far the cheapest club in my bag but one of the best. I toyed with the idea of getting a Vokey but thought "I hit this so well why run the risk".
  15. OOpppsss!! Too late, I bought a TM 510 last week and tried it against my old Steelhead III driver and it's giving me 20-30yrds extra and it's dead straight. I appreciate your advices but I think I have made the right choice. Anything above a 380cc is just far too big for my liking. Not bad for £20 (approx $35) Once again, thanks for your advices anyhow. Regards,
