  1. Hey, Ive been going to the driving range twice a week for the last year and my ball striking is getting pretty good. I now tend to hook the ball a bit with irons and fade with driver but over all hit them pretty straight. However when I play the course(about once a month) my shots suck!!! I dont get good contact and often hit slices with irons and massive slices with driver....why such a big change? Is it mental? Does it have to do with surface differences? Am I to worried about where the ball is going on the course and not finishing my swing? After last round I was so frustrated I was ready to give up...help me, advice to fight this frustration please!!!
  2. Hey, have any of you tried the nike sv sandwedge with 56 loft?? Like it? Is it a good wedge for mid to high handicappers or more for low handicappers???? What are some good wedgws for mid to high handicappers. Thanks
  3. Well boys, seems like low handicappers dont like the slinshot oss but the mid high handicappers think they are great....considered im in the second group ill follow the game improving golfers on this one. By the way popey, thanks for the advice on the re selling to stores...Ill take good note...if I win the bid I and dont like them its improbable that I loose money...didnt bid too high Thanks to all
  4. Hey, some trapers telll me the nike slingshots oss are great and others that they are crap cause thwy feel like woods and have no feedback...are they a bad choice to improve ones game? ...I mean, am I not gonna notice a good shot from an average one? Im thinking of buying them. Thanks By the way Im a 28 handicapper and starting to hit the ball solid and more consistently even thogh use ancient wilson ultras from last decade.
  5. thanks popey...I placed a bid for under 190$ so if I get them and dont like them I can sell them to a store and probably get my money back...dont ya think? Anyways I had herd about the lack of feedback from the club and dont like that...however...do you think you felt that because you are a good player and are used to more playable irons??? What do you think about the cobras 3400 I X/H for game improvement? I take not of your rac os suggestion. I almost bought them 2 weeks ago!!! Are the slingshots really that chunky and feel like woods??? I know they are very forgiving thats why I felt they were a good choice at first...but lack of feedback is bad if you wanna improve right?
  6. Still looking for a set of irons...ive read many reviews in magazines and web pages and many poeple comment that the nike slingshot oss irons are among the best game improvement clubs for mid-high handicappers. Anybody use them or have tried them? Im thinking of getting them used on internet. Thanks
  7. tHANKS, I will look at the mizuno mx 900. I hit a 6 iron to about 160 yards on a good shot....1 shot out of 3 tries or so. I dont know my swing speed but comparing myself to other golfers i see at the range its average tending to fast. That does help?
  8. thanks everyone for the advice. I will look into your suggestions. Another question...should I change to graphite shafts? Im used to steel from my old wilsons but maybe I should change until im more consistent??????
  9. yep, here in spain you need a golfing license from the spanish golf federation to play in most courses. Welcome to the forum penguin. Are you a good player...i could use advice on a new set of irons....im a high handicapper looking for tolerant irons.Any specific model you know of that are tolerant and lighter than my ancient wilsons?
  10. Hey everyone, just registerd in this forum. Wanted to say hi to everybody. Ive become a golf lover during the last 2 years. I am teacher in the Canary Islands, my homeland...I teach in english.I just got my license and handicap and hit the driving range 23or 3 times a week for the last 6 months. Im starting to get better and obsess about it! Ill be needing tons of advice from more experienced golfers. Read ya soon I hope!
  11. Hey guys, Need advice on sets of irons that are forgiving and good for a high handicapper...28 who has problems with consistency specially with 4 and 5 irons. Herd about rac os from taylor made or cobra 3100 i/h...any other suggestions within a 600$ range(could be new or used in good condition).Im used to steel shafts...would graphite be better for me? More forgiving...lighter?Thanks
  12. Thanks, just registerded in this forum and feels good to get a first response. Im left handed and live in Spain so that limits my choice. However I heard the rac os from taylor made might be a good choice for high handicappers looking for forgiveness. Also herd about the cobra 3100 i/h. could be a good option for forgiveness. Any other suggestions?
  13. Hey, Im a handicap 28, started playing a year and a half ago. I started with ancient wilson steel irons but know im getting better and think its time to buy some quality irons.
