I've heard good things about em too.....the only club I've hit was a 2 iron though. It was an 845s (the silver scot version) It felt good, though I must confess I don't always hit the longer irons well. I may be wrong, but I think there are older 845's, and then there are 845's that are new manufacture. You may find out if there's any difference between the two, and see what people who rated them highly have been using.

Give Ebay a look if you haven't yet.......I'm a lefty as well, and I got a great set of Taylor Made 200 series irons for $100 even. Pretty amazing considering the quality of the clubs. They would definitely be good starter set for a beginner, very forgiving.
