  1. If you won't be carrying clubs around the J train gets close enough to Forest Park to walk to the course. No idea about rentals there.
  2. If you don't put a ball in the water on 16 at Lido you haven't gotten your money's worth.
  3. My driver , listed below, with the stock R flex shaft is Tip Firm, Low Torque (3.0). My shots with this club never really go up in the air and look like a golf shot should. My 3 wood, listed below, with the stock R flex shaft is Tip Mid and the torque is 3.7. When teeing off or hitting out of the fairway with it my shots look like a golf shot should, i.e. it rises like I would expect it to. Would a new shaft with similar specs to that shaft be better for me? Or is it the loft of the clubs? 10.5 compared to 15. If I went to a launch monitor what should I be looking to hit? Brands? Any particular specs?
  4. I have an Ogio Syncro, I like it. 15 club divider on top. Insulated drink bag. 3 ball holder right on the bag, no pocket to open.
  5. Actually I have seen the rac HTs with hybrids included, I think I saw them at Golfsmith.com.
  6. Anyone have experience with this putter. I received it as a gift and can not find much info about it. It is on the Ping website but I can not find anyone selling it to look at reviews and people's thoughts on it. I have used it for two rounds so far and while it seems to hit the ball where I want it the sheer size of it makes me hit the ball short more often than not since I am afraid to bomb the ball right past the hole. I am sure I will get used to that as I play more with it.
  7. Putting is the strong part of my game, I very rarely 3 putt. Getting to the green however, well therein lies the problem.
  8. Hmmm I never though to ask Golfsmith to take the price label off and they didn't offer. Thanks
  9. Can I use a product such as Goo Gone to remove label residue from graphite shafts? I use it on my steel shafts without a problem but I am not sure if it will effect graphite in a bad way. How does everyone else take off pricing labels from their shafts?
  10. I shot a 104 today, thanks to a lousy 7 on a par 3 that didn't even have any water on it. I felt really good at the range this week and was hoping to break 100. So close yet so far. Still my best round of the year though and I was playing golf, could be a lot worse.
  11. I have the Nike Shox golf shoes, I can't compare them to any other golf shoes, these being my first pair. They are just as comfortable as my Nike Shox running shoes to me.
  12. Well I picked up a Taylormade Rescue Mid #2 for $99 at Golfsmith. It was one of the cheapest hybrids with a graphite shaft around. After hitting 20 or so balls at Golfsmith the good shots sounded so nice I decided to take a chance on it. I haven't hit it at the range yet much less played a round with it so the jury is still out on how well it performs in real situations. A little off topic but when shopping around for clubs, Taylormade's, while always getting good reviews, seem to be reasonably priced on their older technology equipment. Perfect for a beginner like me.
  13. Well my thinking was a hybrid would be a more versatile club that could be used in more situations and if it can come close to replacing a 3 or 5 wood then it would be very cost effective. At my skill level it may also be easier for me to hit the hybrid as opposed to the 3 wood.
  14. I am building my set of clubs and I currently have no hybrids or fairway woods. Are there any hybrids that can replace a 3/5 wood? Or am I better off buying the wood? I hit my low irons pretty well as I have game improvement irons that are very easy to hit, so I don't think I need the hybrid to replace them. Since this is my first "good" set of clubs I am also buying older equipment and my budget for this type of club is 100 or less. I only paid 116.00 for my driver brand new and I certainly would like to avoid paying more than that.
  15. I just got the TM R580XD. Nice and straight for me and the shots I hit perfectly go about 225 yards with range balls. I haven't hit it at a course yet.
