Went out and shot 53 this morning at my local course. Knocked 3 off my previous best there which im pretty happy with. 1 Par, 1 Bogie, 2 Doubles, and the rest, well more than that. Went with a guy who has a low handicap who offered some good advice. I really focused on slowing my swing right down. Slowed it considerably, and hit longer and straighter than I ever have before which is a good feeling. Putting let me down considerably as well, missed several short puts running around the lip, very frustrating. Looking forwards to another game on saturday morning.

I had a shocker this morning. Temperature was the coldest day of the year (single digits :( ). 6.45 AM tee off with a friend of mine. Played at Cammeray ( http://www.cammeraygolf.com.au/holes.htm ) which is a nice little course in the middle of Sydney. To give you some idea where it is, its at the top of a hill, at the bottom is the Sydney Harbour Bridge ;) ... Lost 2 balls quite early... Stupid Trees 5 putted a few holes... Stupid Putting Stopped counting after the 4th hole... Stupid game, trying to get a LOW score Cant fix my slice... Stupid Driver Almost decapitated myself with a ricochet off a fence... Stupid aiming Yep, it was one of those days when i even got a good shot, and the ball ended up 50 meters behind me... Tho on the other hand i hit a few nice shots off the tee (3I) which made it worth it :D... And im going out on Saturday so that should be fun too... I love this game... :D

Im just wondering what the benefits of golf shoes are to the game? (apart from being allowed to play on certain courses). I usually play in my well worn and comfortable running shoes.

Woke up this morning to the news that Campbell won against tiger... Im sure that all the Kiwis will be having a celabratory beer over this (i know i will ;) )... Ive been following Campbell from a distance for the last few years, mainly as he is the only Kiwi golfer of note that I know of. Its good to see him finally get his name up there..

Hey there... Ive been lurking for a while so I thought id sign up... Just picked up golf after a 5 year break and realised how much i loved the game. Still in the very sucky stage at the moment. I still havent broken 50 over 9 holes, but only played 4 rounds since i got back into it. But i have set a goal to average around a 20 handicap within a year, dont know if its too ambitious or not so will have to work hard and wait and see. I picked up a set of cheap PGF clubs to just start out with and they seem pretty good. And i allready feel like im hitting the ball alot better than i was 5 year ago... Oh yeah, and im based in Sydney, Australia... And i have a chronic addiction to Tiger Woods on xbox... :D Have a good one everyone...
