I use the Penta practice as well for everyday golf. Foolish not to @ $25/dz.
As far as meeting all technical specs, the 'practice' or circle P (Callaway) balls are no different than '1st quality' balls. The only issue is
cosmetic
and it neither impacts performance nor technical acceptance of the ball. Please excuse me if I recall this backwards but I looked it up in the rules awhile back and practice balls are allowed in tournaments unless expressly banned by that specific tournament. Obviously you just play a 1st quality ball and not worry whatsoever.
X-outs are a completely different animal. By rule, these DO NOT pass technical specification. The out of spec may be very slight and you may never tell the difference - but something didn't pass. Probably OK for everyday use but w/ practice balls at the same price why even bother............
