  1. Does anyone know how the USGA did the 3rd round pairings and start times? It didn't look to me like the pairs were going off in strict order of their scores, i.e. some pairs with lower scores were teeing off before pairs with higher scores. Just curious. Thanks.
  2. Just peel back the very bottom of one of your grips. You should see either a 60 or a 58 (I think the 2 most common core diameters) or possibly some other number in the bottom 1/2 inch or so. Then you can either match the core size you currently have or play with it. For example, using .58 grip on a .60 shaft gives you a slightly larger grip.
  3. Yes, I get that more loft or a lower kick point are 2 ways to get a higher trajectory. Or less loft and a higher kick point for a lower trajectory. I am asking what are the other effects, if any, between adjusting loft vs shaft. Thanks.
  4. Hi All Just something I've been wondering about regarding ball trajectory with the driver: What is the difference between using a higher (or lower) launching shaft versus using a clubhead with more (or less) loft? I mean in general, are there advantages in terms of carry and/or total distance or counteracting side spin in one or the other? Thanks.
  5. I've hit off these at a range. Easily the best mats I've used. Pricey though. http://realfeelgolfmats.com/
  6. I really don't think I'm forgetting what Tiger is capable of. We've all see him make shots that make you shake your head. But he's hit those shots with a full bag. I'm just saying if the 4 was THE club he needed to hit that shot, then he maybe should have hit a different shot. But you're right TarDawg, it may have been the fact that he was chasing and he pressed it. Tiger isn't the best chaser, at least not in majors. Okay, that makes 3 cents now. I'm broke.
  7. From what I understand, a lot of these guys tinker with their clubs per course & conditions: grinding, bending, tweaking. Even adjusting mid-tournament. If that's the case, I wouldn't think there would/could be such a thing as a "duplicate" set. That aside, if Tiger knew/believed he didn't have the right club for the shot he was trying to hit, why did he try to hit it? This guy is universally lauded for his mental game, his course management, the move seems very surprising. Especially given how Zach ruled the par 5's while laying up. And it's not like Tiger is a slouch with a wedge in his hand. Anyway, my 2 cents...
  8. Thanks Dan. I'll pick up a sleeve of the Srixons.
  9. I tried the Nike Power Distance Super Soft ball after reading the consumer reports and thought it was great for the money. Actually, I think it's a pretty nice ball period. Nike seems to have replaced or revamped the Power line (and raised the price a couple bucks too, natch). My question: if anyone has played the old Super Soft and the new Power Soft balls, are they the same? If not, what do you think the difference is? Thanks guys. -Dale
  10. I've been using the ZFs for a while. I go through them a little faster it seems than most of the posts here. The problem isn't breaking them. They go so much farther than wooden tees and sometimes I just can't find them. I feel silly spending so long looking for them with everyone standing there. I know they're thinking, "Dude. It's just a tee!"
  11. I don't think that is correct. I believe it's the average of the best 10 out of the last 20, so if you shot 19 88's and 1 76, you'd take the average of 9 88's and 1 76. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. -Dale
  12. On a chunked shot that barely moves: RELEASE!
  13. Come on now. We all wish we had some way to keep our grips tacky.
