  1. Hello, Me and a friend are going to Dubai to play golf first weeks of December. We are looking for some tips of great golf courses and if there are any golf resorts that anyone can recommend we stay at. Any info here would be very appreciated. thanks! D
  2. Hello guys, yes interesting question :) I obviously dont do this when I play a tournament or any normal round. I do this on the practice area when im trying out new clubs to see/feel the new shaft (as the topic of the other thread). Ive been playing college golf and wouldnt do such a thing in any tournament. Again, interesting question still!
  3. You are absolutely right its just that I already bought these clubs and am not sure if I should change shafts or sell the clubs as they are and buy a whole new set. Thanks for the answer. What is the main reason why the pros want lower launches / lower spin than the amateurs?
  4. Not sure what my swing speed is with my irons, I hit my 7-iron about 175 yard carry. How could I tell if the shaft doesnt fit me or if my swing speed is too fast for the shaft?
  5. Hello, I just bought a set of ap2s on Ebay (pretty much brand new) with the shaft Kbs Tour 90 stiff. I was looking for a lighter steel shaft and the tour 90 was very light so I bought it. Looking at the KBS tour shafts here: http://kbsgolfshafts.com/shafts/kbs-tour-90 One can see that the tour 90 shaft is by far the lightest but also produces a higher launch angle and spin rate. I like that it goes high so this is not a problem. The club is indeed super-light which is very nice but it doesnt feel as stiff as my former proect-x 6.5s. I usually like to push the clubface a bit in to the ground before I start my swing and I notice that the shaft is very flexible when I do this. I have a look at the torque which is quite high at 2.3 if compared to the KBS shafts most pros use. I am a 2 hcp player and inspire to be better, is this shaft a crazy choice I made? What is the main reason that not alot of pros are using the kbs tour 90? Can the torque make my shots less straight? Why is the torque so high here? I heard somewhere that torque doesnt matter much in iron shafts as it does in graphite shafts. Please help as im thinking about selling these again and getting another set of shafts. thanks, D
  6. Hello, Im looking for a new set of irons similar to ap2 but cheaper. Id like the ap2s but not ready to spend that much money on a new set. Any ideas? thanks, D
  7. What are the main differences? You dont lose accuaracy with the ligher shafts?
  8. Im thinking about buying these but not sure I should have such a light shaft as the True Temper XP 95, only 95 grams: http://www.golfbidder.co.uk/product/530936/Titleist_714_AP1.html I guess what im worried about is being a pretty good player and having these very light shafts. I really think my callaway razr x forged, 0.5 inch longer with project x 6.0 shafts are too heavy so I do want a lighter shaft, just not sure if it would be too light as I have read that its easier to swing a heavier shaft on the same swing plane than a lighter shaft, im torn, I need help :)
  9. I see that the True Temper XP 95 S300 are really light weight with 95 grams only. Anyone have these shafts with their AP1s or AP2s? http://www.truetemper.com/products/xp95/
  10. I really like the KBS tour stiff shafts, are they available for the AP1s? Im looking for a light shaft but dont want graphite. How is the SL shafts? Do you have stiff as well?
  11. Hello, Im a 2 hcp player and am currently playing the razr forged irons by Callaway. They are close to blade clubs and I feel they dont suit me at all. I have previously had some big bertha irons with fatter soles and alot of bounce which suited my preference on hitting down on the ball with alot of turf. The question is, is it a bad idea to get irons such as the Titleist AP1s although im a relatively good player at 2 hcp? I have heard they are harder to fade/draw but that doesnt matter to me in my game. I have also heard that they are not as consistent as thinner irons in distance control. How true is this? Comparison for example Titleist AP1 vs AP2. Any comments appreciated. thanks, D
  12. Thanks for the reply. I dont hit fat shots often but I do hit them more often with these irons than with my previous higher bounce sole bertha irons. Im a bit of a digger with the irons so I think have a sharp sole doesnt benefit me much.
  13. Hello, Im a 2 hcp player and am currently using the callaway razr forged irons: http://www.rankmark.com/images/2011/Irons/callaway-razr-x-forged-irons/callaway-razr-x-forged-irons.jpg My problem is that I tend to hit it quite fat and when trying clubs with more bounce I tend to hit the sweet spot more often. I have been looking at the ap2 and also even the ap1s. Which other clubs would you suggest for a 2 hcp player that wants more bounce in his irons. Also, do you think bounce could be part of the problem in my case? The razr forged have really thin soles. thanks alot, D
  14. Yeah the problem I have is that I think the blade clubs dig the ball a bit easier so I hit it thick more times. Could also be that I place the ball too much on my left foot :) I agree that blade clubs are better for working the ball with different cuts but surprisingly I almost never need to do that, perhaps im playing courses that are too easy. Ill def check the G25 out although those look really big, I also like Nike covert irons, even the forged ones. Thanks again for your answer, very helpful.
  15. Hello, Im a 2 hcp player and when I was younger I always played the big bertha irons with large sole with forgiving shots. 2 years ago I changed to the callaway razr forged irons which really looked nice and thought that would work well. However, everytime I borrow a club with a wider sole I hit the ball much better and much longer. I hit down on the ball quite much and dont know if the bounce is too little as I also tend to hit it thick quite often with the mid irons. Has anyone had the same experience and are playing wide sole clubs although they are low handicap player? Im looking to buy new irons that are not so thin and forged, Nike or another Callaway set would be nice, any suggestions? thanks, D
