  2. You wish I would post a video so you can learn from me. Why is it so important for me to pay for someone to tell ME what I hit. I know what I hit. Par 72, gir the majority of the holes, 2 put minimum, you do the math and tell me what my handicap is. Your just mad I didn't like your advice due to the fact that EVEN A LOW HANDICAP PLAYER LIKE YOURSELF won't land 8 feet to the pin or closer the majority of the time. Maybe it's because of your logic is why you will ALWAYS have a handicap. At least post something good like the ones before your dumb reply. I might even put that four step putting bs to the test.
  3. I disagree, both long and short need to be practiced evenly. you might as well tell someone "don't practice your driver cause your short game is whats going to gets you closest to the hole". I've got a killer short game. One of the best out of the people I play with and meet along the way and fyi everyone I play with is 10 to 20 years into it which is about 9 to 19 years more then me. And as much as I boast the chances of landing that close are evenly matched. Especially if you have a killer long game which is in my grasps. I say both, but that's just me
  4. haha so far two of of the three forums I checked out was started by you. Came in here to look for tips. I GIR"d the majority of the holes today with very little effort then blew it the **** up ending with nothing but triple and double bogies. Sooo knowing how lame that was here I am. Anyways tips tips tips.... I stopped reading, I realized that asking for tips wasn't going to cut it I just need to spend a little time at the greatest place around, MULLIGANS!! last time I went their I dominated the dance floor like no other. Mulligans is s miniature golf course. that's the big advice. small advice dont forget to at least play around when your their. Sounds dumb I know, but it will dramatically improve your putting. my only problem is I stopped golfing for s bit so now I have to play catch up.. MULLIGANS!!!!!!!! drive for show putt for dollar bills (I replaced "dough" with dollar bills)
  5. got my driver down buds, if I hit the driving rang and keep a steady pace I'll hit 220 to 275 straight down the center if not then it slices 200 out or straight 150. it's just so hard to not hit it as hard as I can. I do have an issue with that slice, once it shows it drags through all the woods and hybrids too. it's the weirdest thing, if you start thinking about it, it starts happening
  6. that can be an issue to, go so high that it sinks 100% into the ground. I'm not even sure what kind of rules are made on a situation like that. anyone know, cause I play with friends so I've always just pulled it out. what's the legal approach to take
  7. I like sky high, it makes me happy. I hear you bud.. lady bud.. I've only needed that on wedge with an awfull lye. I make it happen by just slightly (ever so slightly) shifting the ball toward my back foot and adding my shoulders into the mix. The wedge is my most strongest and most favorable club fyi... anyways, yeah I rotate my shoulders which I usually won't do then I power house it. it feels awful but itt goes flat and has the spin to stop it on the green. the long irons are similar (supposedly). Ball closer to your back foot so contact is at the very lowest of your down swing arc, just before it flattens or hits the ground. It sounds hard to do, so I figured it will come with experience. I have horrible accuracy with my long irons and that would mean more aiming troubles. Rock on with 4 pars back to back, mine were spread out
  8. now that's funny, I would give some advice but mine has always just came to me after a lot of practice... I mean A LOT of it. 60+ holes every weekend. So for me to think that someone can just turn a club head and it will go farther is to me, not real. It's how you stand, hold the club, place your ball, shuffle your weight, up swing, weight again, shoulders, down swing, weight, hands, hips, arms, head. toooo many things. seeing as how you mentioned your already good. it's probably something stupid that only seeing your swing in person will allow for a positive piece of advice be made. . that's just me. even with that being said I still search tips for a buddy of mine who is just beginning. 300+ drive on a good hole but can never let it go when he has s bad hole so his game is bouncing around. then I tell him what I read and he's better again. . that's weird you want lower balls, I had to work my @$$ off to get lift on my clubs now it's too much. some more then others.. still improving so that's good. geez this golf has over run my life I just can't stop.
  9. Well, I'd say your best bet in figuring this out is just ask your friend how it works seeing that the chances of a pro player answering this question for you on here is slim to none. and if your looking to surprise him I'd try YouTube, you get explanations and a video from a very experienced player/tutor. I'd just ask, then drop some balls and give it a shot.
  10. (applauding) professional scratch player I can't say. writing a beautiful poem about the greatest game ever invented, I'd say you nailed it bud
  11. I may have jumped in to suddenly... it's not the first time. I like to look at the long run, I go for gold always, it's to push myself. . and then I talked to a lady not but two hours ago after 27 holes today two pars and a lot of bogies due to less then an inch away putts. and she asked me a question after I told her about this conversation, the question was this... " would you rather break records because you can hit over a tree or would you rather be like tiger woods who hits the ball in the hole" and that's when it struck me. who cares if you drive the ball 300+ yards or have a perfect wedge or putt from anywhere. if you can't put them together all you are is a record breaker or a one act circus... I know I might have steered off coarse a bit so here's the main point buddy, you were right, she was right, and I was on another planet. I get the feeling that some try so hard to be a profesional golfer in such a short time. even the greats in any sport practice and run drills and not all drills are point based. some is stamina, muscle building, endurance. that's why I said a par or birdie strategy is the way. you"'ll never get a birdie if your too conservative. pars just fall into place (sometimes). as for the stats my apologies I didn't catch that and even if I did it's like trying to read the matrix. I'd rather fight agents then deal with politics. I know you had to read a bunch of my random thoughts to get to the apology at the end sorry for that too. I'll be sure that I know the full story before butting in
  12. that's such an easy answer... tomorrow morning of coarse . always tomorrow if not then, then right now lol I am golfing tomorrow morning fyi...
  13. I can tell you one reason why adopting a par strategy is always a good idea to me.. it's to go For gold. iit's the excitement of pulling of a shot that only the good can pull off. if my buddies are paring every hole because they have the confidence and talent to hit a long iron over the lake rather then play they conservative approach then so do I. the worse case scenario is the Nike mojo being water bound and I have to drop a new one. best case scenario is my ball goes right were I want it to and I throw my club in the air and scream for joy asking my friends if they want dad to teach them how to hit like that. my opinion as a 100+ bogey golfer is to not worried about the scorecard cause it's never good. my best games are played when they lie and tell me that we are not keeping score. that's when my game drops to an unbelievable low.... but then they tell me before the back nine and the competitor takes over and I start thinking to much about what needs to be done and not what I want to do.... moral of my story, I'd rather go hit the ball the way I'd like to and not the way I should "others opinions not mine" as to what should be hit. trial and error my friend.
  14. hey bud you just blew my mind. if I knew how to quote properly I would. that part where you mentioned trying to pick up 200+ yards after a bad tee off. that's me all the way. I've got a horrible temper and golfing usually takes care of that with one exception... the driver. I can not seem to hit with that, I have such a hard time teeing up with it that I just dropped it from my club list. now I just use a fairway wood and take that about 200 to 250 depending on the roll, slope, slice, tree , etc. what I'm saying is that next time I "duff" the tee box I'm going to try a more conservative approach and not over compensate for lost yardage.
  15. HI everyone, I'm a newcomer with not much too say as i am still browsing around. So far I like what I've seen. I'm on the newer side of the sport I've played for two years now on and off.. more off than on, I'm not going to let that happen again... with that being said ... ttyl
