I would just like to know how many of us are here today because we google'd "
Hank Haney University
"? I had some time and was trying to see what that long ass video was about and could I not make the same mistake I made in 1999 when I bought the "Natural Golf" instructional VHS (yes, I said VHS) set. I noticed some other members found the site the same way so I started poking around and
voila,
hear I am. I dig the atmosphere around here.
A little about myself; I started playing golf when I first joined the Navy. The guys who got me started were in A & C-school with me out in San Diego. We had night classes at that time so we were pretty free most days until about 1500 (3 pm for you non-military types). All the military courses charged you by your rank so as a junior sailor, it was only $7 to walk 18. I bought a set of cheap clubs and the rest is history.
When I got to my first ship, my golf clubs went everywhere with me. While most guys were finding the best bars to infiltrate, myself and a few other duffers were looking for the most reasonable golf course we could afford. I have had the pleasure to play the
Fregate
GC in the French Riviera,
Keilir GC
in Iceland, Torrey Pines (South Course) and a host of memorable courses because of that one "shot that rings a tuning fork in your loins".
Anyway, after 15 years of playing by myself and with buddies, my wife and another friend of mine, have both shown an interest in picking up the game so I scour the innerzweb for ideas of how to help them out and learn quicker than I did. All of which has lead me to TheSandTrap.
Thank you...
...and well done.
