  1. titleist offers their fitting cart at almost all retail stores while mizzuno doesn't...youd be surpirsed how much the fitting cart can help.
  2. I have worked and studied golf shafts a lot! I can honestly tell you that becasue the stock manufacutre shafts are mass produced they are horrible quality. They do not usually fit the players game who purchases them. Buying a low launching mid spin shaft (which is ideal for distance) will cost you more than $100. I would recomend looking at the aldila voodoo on ebay. It retails for $300 but you can pick it up on ebay for about 125-150. It is a sweet shaft that is low launching mid spinning which will give you that run out after it lands and its dispersion is pretty tight keeping it in the short grass.
  3. In a junior tournament we were playing I got to the 14th tee and it was a 420 par 4. I hit an extreamly well drive for me at the time (270 yards). Hit the 150 granite plaque in the fairway and then hit the cartpath eventually rolling to into the greenside bunker. It was about 410 yards but i dont think that can really count....gotta love the cartpath
  4. I would highly recomend the ap-2's over the mizzunos. The fittign process titleist offers is terrific. The mizzunos are grinded from a solid piece of metal unlike the ap-2's but i think the feel of the ap-2's is way better than the 52s and the ap2s perform a lot better
  5. I have played with the taylormade burner and ft-5 for a signicant amount of time. I used the taylormade burner for abotu 3 months and found it to be very incosistant. Most of the incosistancy comes from the shaft. if you are going to consider the bruner driver i would seriously consider looking for a shaft upgrade. The FT-5 is a good driver but the carbon composite insert certainly takes away from distance. I have hit the hibore xl and xls and can tell you it has an extremely hot face. The ball flies off the face when you hit it. I found it to be the least forgiving out of the three and defenetaly the wildest (but hands down furthest). I would tell you to look mostly at the ft-5 if your willing to lack a little distance for accuracy but if distance is your goal look at the hibore xls. If your willing to spend a little more money, the 2009 burner is a terrific club with a much hotter face and a thinner wall leading to a faster swing speed and more compressed sweet spot increasing distance drastically. They improved the stock shaft (even though it still isnt great). To conclude the most important thing to remember is that 70% of distance is correlated with the shaft so if your buying on ebay look for something with a upgraded shaft.
  6. I would highly recommend looking at the tour edge exotics XCG or XCGV 4 wood. They will go further than any 3 wood on the market because of thier fusion technology. The 4 wood will naturally launch higher than a 3 wood and the tour edge are very easy to get out of the rough.
