  1. Thats what I use Ralph, I love it. (I only wish I needed it more often) :-(
  2. My question would be, Why do they even need to turn in a scorecard? The PGA has the scores posted for all to see on the course and even online for that matter. Why not just have the "official" scores be posted and amended if necessary? On the PGA tour scorecards are just a redundancy.
  3. I may be just returning to golf, but I have spent many years in the gym. I feel I need to add that the Olympic lifts are some of the most technically demanding moves in sports. Before you even consider the Olympic Clean and Press, develop your front squat. The balance and flexability requirements are much greater than the powerlifting squats. Before you ever attempt a snatch, work on the overhead squat. Start out using no weight at all, just the bar. Make sure that you're getting your a** to the grass on those moves. You will be amazed at the stress placed on your body with no weight. That overhead squat is a killer. I went from squatting 550# powerlifting to 65# overhead squatting. The pressure is all in the shoulders and back. Be careful, and have fun with it.
  4. [QUOTE=sean_miller;541086]He was referring to your approximate index. That's exactly what happened. My apologies. But still... best of luck.
  5. Let's see... You're 15 that would be a H.S. freshman. In Indiana, that would mean little to no golf all winter. My suggestion would be to join your H.S. wrestling team. You would learn the true meaning of hard work. You would get much stronger and more flexable then you know. You would become mentally hard as nails. Like golf you only get out what you put into it. When the season ends in the spring, you wouldn't even recognize the you of today. Best of luck in your efforts.
  6. I have been struggling with my wedges. I am playing with Ping G-10's with a silver dot 4* upright. I am thinking I should probably have my wedges bent to match, but what happens to the bounce if I have them bent? Does it change? or is that only when the loft is changed? Thanks
  7. If you have an airport nearby, you could use their altitude. It's the method I used for carb jetting on a race car. It always got me close. Just give them a call.
  8. I own a gun, and I believe that people should be allowed to carry them to protect themselves. I would personally never carry one onto the golf course. I'm afraid that I would be endangering myself with my next 4 putt...
  9. Obviosly with a handycap like mine...(not a handycap, just an estimation), my blow up holes come from a multitude of directions. Sometimes I think I just can't stand success. Just the other day I hit a nice drive right down the middle, and followed it up with a nice fairway wood about 10 yards short on a 440 yard par 4. I then proceed to chunk, chunk, chunk, then 2 putt for a 7. I was just so close to a good hole... then it blows up in my face.
  10. It was an easy decision for me. No more sweat dripping on my lenses, no more glasses sliding down my nose. Plus contacts don't leave red dents on my nose. Contacts all the way for me.
  11. Zack, You might want to check a different store. I just had some midsize tour velvets installed on my wedges over the weekend. It was done at Golfsmith if that helps.
  12. Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm just returnig to the game after about 15 years away. The last time I bought clubs a couple of decades ago I bought some knock off clubs because that's all I could afford at the time. Now that I'm a little better off I decided to get what I really wanted last time. PINGS. I went to Golfsmith and pointed at the G-10's and said "Gimme those". I got fitted (+1", silver dot, and orange grips) I still saved $300 off the latest and greatest, graphite shafted, G-15's, and spent that (and a little more) on a used driver, 3 wood, and hybrid of Ebay. I guess I'm just trying to say that while golf isn't cheap, you can still keep it under control. (somewhat)... Get the best stuff you can afford, and go out and have fun.
