Volume Fifty-Four

This week, a hodge-podge collection collected while I watched the 2006 Masters.

Hittin' the LinksThe Masters has concluded, and Phil sits alone at the top of the leader board. I don’t know about you, but I really think they need to move the jacket ceremony out of Butler Cabin and onto the 18th green or something else. It just seems so awkward watching the whole scenario play out. I’d also love to know what Tiger was thinking as he slipped that coat on Phil.

In any event, this week’s links are a hodge-podge collection of all sorts of things I’ve found as I watched The Masters in tireless fashion. If you guys have any feedback that you’d like to share, I’m all ears.

Volume Fifty-Three

I do have to thank several companies for their great products which made my 94 possible.

Hittin' the LinksIt is with great pleasure and admiration towards the Golf Gods that I had a great showing this past weeked. I know that it may not mean much to most of you out there, but it was the first time I shot under 100. (Yes, I played 18) I finished with a 94 in fact and I felt solid throughout the whole four and half hours. It was great to be out there and really feel good.

Of course, I do have to thank several companies for their great products which made my 94 possible. Below are just a few suggestions that I would make to those looking to crack that 100 number.

Put these links on your favorites list and if you use them, you’ll be taking all your friends money around the loop. If not, you’ll at least look good trying.

Hittin' the LinksSpring is in the air here in Cleveland, OH… kind of. With an occasional dusting of snow here and there, I remain undaunted. The month of March and the blooming of my wife’s tulips point to a soon-to-be spring. Unfortunately for me, the misfortune of living in a climate where the ideal golfing weather takes a five month hiatus, I have grown rather rusty. Therefore, I have done a little research in hopes to get my body, mind and spirit back on the right track.

Put these links on your favorites list and if you use them, you’ll be taking money from all your friends around the loop. If not, you’ll at least look good trying.

The game of golf is synonymous with history, legends, and lore. It’s one of the reasons why I love the game so much. Here are some great sites that will help you remember the history and memories of our beloved game.

Hittin' the LinksIt was between passing out and downing my last gulp of green ale this past weekend when I thought about all the memories I’ve had on the golf course. The game of golf is synonymous with history, legends, and lore. It’s one of the reasons why I love the game so much.

So I’ve been feeling nostalgic and reminiscent as of late. Maybe it’s because the Bay Hill Invitational took place this past weekend and the tournament conjures up such great imagery of past champions. Or, maybe it’s because at the tournaments helm is one of golf’s most endearing icons. Possibly, it’s because the feeling of spring is finally here, which conjures up thoughts of great rounds that have long since passed. Then again, someone could have slipped something into my Smithwicks and I’m having some trippy flashbacks. Whatever the reason, here are some great sites that will help you remember the history and memories of our beloved game.

Everyone knows about the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, and even the European and Champions Tours. But what about the Asian Tour, the Hooters Tour, or the A. G. Spanos Tour? No?

Hittin' the LinksGreetings to all! I hope you had a great weekend of fun and excitement. I feel like I’ve been reborn, personally. I was able to get out and play nine holes for the first time since November. So, you’ll have to excuse my unbridled (and renewed) enthusiasm for golf.

This week’s Hittin’ The Links is dedicated to the pro golf tours. Many avid golf enthusiasts are aware of the major tours such as the PGA Tour, European Tour, Champions Tour etc, etc. However, I’ve decided to peruse the information superhighway and see what else is out there for an aspiring golf professional. If my tone seems somewhat overtly boisterous, I beg your pardon, but I’ve recently purchased a 12 pack of Samuel Adams White Ale. It’s superb to say the least.

Volume Forty-Nine

This week, in my first stab at Hittin’ the Links, I share with you some links to some of the guys that have literally built our game: course architects.

Hittin' the LinksI have given my first Hittin’ the Links entry much thought and consideration and have decided to dedicate it to those who are responsible for the courses we see on television and read about it books of golfing lore. These men have set the standards, raised the bar, and exceeded people’s expectations with every course they’ve designed.

Volume Forty-Eight

With some big shoes to fill, this volume gets it started off right.

Hittin the LinksWe can all agree that Josh did a great job with this column and since this is an interim issue of “Hittin’ The Links” (before Matt takes over), I think its time to show you some garbage I’ve been lookin’ at for a while – things I’ve found interesting or things I just thought noteworthy.

Let’s get started.

Volume Forty-Seven

Here’s my nine favorite places to check for golf links each day. So bookmark them and check in daily.

Hittin' the LinksUnfortunately for me, this will be the last edition of Hittin’ the Links you’ll be receiving from me. I’ve enjoyed scouring the Web to find new products, sites, and articles to link to. This week, I thought it would be nice to put together a list of my favorite places to find Hittin’ the Links fodder.

Thanks for reading.

Volume Forty-Six

Maybe this week’s column will get me a spot in next year’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Hittin' the LinksThe Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of my favorite golf tournaments to watch. I really like seeing how good the celebrities are. There were a few I thought looked quite good. Thomas Gibson could smoke it and Justin Timberlake and Carson Daly both looked like they knew what they were doing.

Anyway, on to the links.
