  1. Titleist ZM Forged blades here. I've played this set for over 2 years now and absolutely love them. I learned how to play golf with a old set of blades and have always been able to strike them better than the game improvement irons.
  2. I played the 905R for over a year and loved it. It was stolen (along with the rest of my bag) so I decided to upgrade to the 907D2. I tried to give this driver a fair chance but I was never happy with it. I played the stock shaft for a month, produced too much spin, so I put a custom shaft in. Same result. I talked to a few reps and the consensus was that Titleist missed the mark with the 907 series. After Titleist came out with the 909 series, I switched to the 909DComp and immediately saw an improvement off the tee. Better sound, trajectory, feel, spin rate, etc. I recently hit the 910D2 and enjoyed it but didn't get to spend enough time with it to recommend for a purchase. However, if I were in your shoes looking for a driver, (if used) I would definitely try the 905 or 909 series over the 907.
  3. My last round was an 82, with 7 three putts. This was a combination of a new putter (Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 which is a little heavier than my last), very fast greens (it is November in Chicago...really???) and leaving the ball above the hole (definitely my fault).
  4. My best (and definitely most ironic) shot of the week (and year) came while playing in Chicago on Sunday morning. The hole was a slight dogleg left playing approx 330 uphill into the wind (OB left, nothing but space right). I hit a draw off the tee that was heading toward the left edge of the fairway. Due to the leaves on the ground, it took approx. 10 minutes to find my ball. My friend and I were close in score and I wasn't going to take a penalty for a ball that landed left edge of the fairway. The ranger was on the hole and helped us look. We found my ball approx. 20 yards from the hole in the left rough. The ranger commented "I've only seen one person hit the ball this far on this hole..." (apparently it is always into the wind) "...and he holed out for eagle." I responded, "Let's make that happen again," pulled out my 60 Degree Vokey, and hit a pretty aggressive shot that was aimed 5 feet right of the hole. The ball landed what I thought was too hard on the green, caught the break, and hit the center of the pin dropping into the cup. Neither the ranger nor I could believe it.
  5. I am an attorney in Chicago.
