I have to admit, I was a bit thrown off by the sound at first. But I got used to it. I orginally tried hitting the 905T in the Aldila NV65 and I wasn't a big fan. I've always liked the 983e better than the K, but thats just personal preference. So I decided to take the 905S w/ a Speeder out for a session at the range. WOW what a difference. I completely agree with your review above. Better trajectory, more distance, and more forgiving. Definitely another winner from Titleist.

The latest word on my TM ordeal: TM is stepping up! The shop where I bought it got in touch with their tour rep. They told me that it'd be taken care of. If that mean a new R7TP, I might end up a TM guy for life!

A couple of points... I pretty sure they'll be released in chrome (see above)-at least I hope. I'm not a big fan of the tour satin either. As far as the lines are concerned, I'm anxious to see how they look in person--in particular the toe of PW. Some sets of Titleist clubs have a rather tall and pointed toe. I'm not a big fan. Are we sure that they're going to be forged? One question I'll certainly ask their rep is: What is Forged Stainless? and Why not stick with the soft carbon forgings? All that being said, if all this doens't check out then I'm going with the 690mb/cb combos. Real slick set up!

BTW, I did see a chrome set of these on The Golf Channel. Adam Barr was doing a bag check with Tom Kite, he's playing a set

I agree about Titleist missing the boat on these..... I'd like to wait for these, but I'm also considering a couple of other combo sets. I've played Titleist all my life so I'm comfortable with the their lies and lofts.....I really don't want to get used to another companies specs...nor do I want to have someone bend a new set of irons for me. I'm headed to a Titlesit Demo Day on Saturday to try and learn more.

Thanks for the replies folks! Right now, I'm waiting to get it back from the brick and mortar shop I bought it from (I purchased through eBay though). I never thought that TM wouldn't warrantee something that was clearly a TM club. At one point, I did contact TM directly. They said they would take care of it, I just had to take it to a authorized TM dealer. Once I got there, he made the call to Customer Service and it was the same old story....it's a tour club....we can't do anything. I appreciate the offers for assitance and I may take you up on it. I'm just going to wait and see what the shop says.... I'll keep everyone posted!

I've recently had a unfortunate experience with TM's Customer Service. Here's what happened: I purchased a NEW TM 510TP w/an Aldila Prototype 65X from eBay (but also a brick an mortar shop). After 2 sessions at the range it developed a rattle in the head--very noisy! I took it to my local golf shop who called TM. TM told my shop that they COULD NOT do anything with the club b/c it was not meant for general sale. It was only meant for 'tour' use. In short, I'm stuck with a 510TP with a bad rattle! As it stands, I sent it back to the shop where I bought it and I'm waiting for a verdict. Consider this a heads up when buying anything that is meant for tour use---it may not fall under the typical warranty! Anyone else have a similar experience? Any recommendations?
