  1. Just got fitted yesterday. Originally played Ping Eye 2's orange dots, bc they were hand me downs from my dad (same height and weight). I just found out I have bee playing the wrong dot for 15+ years. I should have been playing black dots and my swing ended up adapting to the wrong lie angle. Anyway I'm glad I got fitted for the new clubs by a pro and even got a mini lesson out of the deal. Cant wait to get the new clubs out on the course with the new swing of course.
  2. It's copper mill it was a deal on one of those discount sites. I don't want to post the website bc I'm not sure if that violates rules but you can probably call the pro shop and ask them.the deal expires tonight I think
  3. Mondays-Thursdays anytime, after 12pm on Fridays-Sunday and Holidays. Expires in December
  4. Anybody have any experience with these. One of the clubs in my area about 15 miles away is offering a deal for $185. You get ten rounds of golf, ten bags of balls, and ten sessions at the lesson clinic. You also have to pay $15 each time for cart fees. I know this is a great deal b/c its $33 a round with cart and gps. I was just wondering if anybody has any experience with these clinics. Would it be beneficial to attend? If not just to hit balls or get little tips here and there. I only ask bc the club is a little bit far from where I live in comparison to the size of the city. I live in Baton Rouge and pretty much everywhere I need to go is 5-10 minutes away, but the good golf courses are 30-40 minutes away. I can go hit balls anytime at the range or at the park right next to my house. The other thing is the clinics are only scheduled for Friday at 5pm and Saturday at 11pm. I tend to work either Friday or Saturday, but could take off, just dont want to take off if it would just be to hit balls. All input is greatly welcomed, and I know I should be thankful for offers like these, since I know a lot of people on here dont get the luxury of playing golf year round and getting to hit off of turf on the range instead of mats.
  5. i play either callaway i(s) or nike tour ones so i dont think its the ball. i just wanted to know for tight pin placements and to see if there is anything to add to my bag of shots. i appreciate all of the feedback from everybody thanks. i should probably stop working on getting it to spin, since i have developed a slice after trying to add spin to my shots.
  6. Thanks guys, I'll try these tips out next time i get out on the course and update yall.
  7. So is there a certain swing path or type to get more spin on wedges or irons for that matter? I tend to hit the ball very high and i just about never get a divot. For the most part my shots into the green tend to take a bounce and sit or spin a little bit forward. Is there anything I can do to get the ball to move back or should I just be happy with what I got. If anybody can post a link or talk about the mechanics of spinning the ball (i.e. getting it to come back, releasing, or sitting) it would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Does anybody have any experience with the Tour Striker Wedge? I wanted to know if this is effective for learning how to spin wedges better or if there is any difference with the regular Tour Striker. I have the Tour Striker 7 iron and have noticed a little bit better spin with my wedges but not with regular irons. I am not sure if this has to do with my 15+ year old Ping Eye2's or bc I just got some Mizuno wedges. Just wanted to see if there is any reason to buy another Tour Striker, as I am already satisfied with the original.
  9. Does any body know if there is a limit on how much weight you put into the driver club head. I've been playing an r7 quad for about four years now and have an extra 50 grams in it. i dont play in any tournaments or anything just with friends and not for money, but i have always wanted to stay within the rules of golf since golf is a gentlemen's game thanks in advance
  10. I think it is a great training aid. the first couple of times i hit it, i hit it perfectly, so i put it back in the bag and went with my regular irons. came back to after a bucket and couldnt hit it for my life. i have had it for three months now, havent really seen any gain on distance but have been getting more spin around the greens, i was always a picker that hit the ball mile high in the air (hit 5 iron and people would think i hit my pitching wedge). i would highly recommend it and i got the tour 7 iron @ 2 degrees flat to match my ping eye2 orange dots. also i like to hit it before a round b/c if you hit it good then it gives you confidence like tom watson always says he would hit his 2 iron first. if he hit it good then he had confidence for the day if he hit it bad well you werent supposed to hit a 2 iron well anyway.
