  1. Correct Wie didn't make the cut 4 days ago, but she came ahead of alot of other Male golfers. She's a long shot alternated for the Men's US Open. The quote above I was referring to was the Women's US Open. Two different issues here. 1) The PGA Tour is meant for the best players in the world to compete. 2) Sponsor's Exemption are for Sponsors. Its their Tournament to invite whoever the want. Since they put up the millions in prize money and support, I think they deserve that option. Same goes for Augusta not letting women into their Club. Its their club, their Tournament.
  2. Here is a good article about the state of golf. Reflecting your numbers as well as what I read. http://www.golfintelligence.com/abou...y_overview.htm As for Exemptions, they are called Sponsor's Exemptions and as soon as there are no Sponsors, then they should be open to the field, if there is still a tournament. As for Wie, she has played in the Women's Open, twice. Both times she played her way in made the cut, as a 13 and 14 year old. When she was 13, she was the youngest to ever make the cut. This year she will very likely be the youngest to finish in the top 10. She will win on the LPGA, it's just a matter of time. She brought renewed interest into the game as people want to see her. Its not a one way street, its the system that anyone with the opportunity to use, would.
  3. Uhhh, Sponsor's exemptions don't take spots away from the field....Do they? Last time I check, the sport of golf was shrinking in number of everday players and needed some good publicity. Maybe Jack shouldn't play in the next British Open. Now I am not saying Jack and Wie are on the same level by a long shot but, Wie has brought renewed interest into the game.
  4. I use a TM Mid 19* and 21*. My 3W is a 15*. My 3 iron either comes or goes depending if I play my 13.5* 3 W or not. It depends upon the whether and course conditions as well. The hybrids tend to get up in the air more so on windy days I will play the irons more.
  5. Shaft determination is dependant upon alot of factors. The first is whether you swing is consistent enough to have repeatable results. Next your swing speed to flex and then its what you are wanting to do in terms of ball flight. Some shaft will help you carry the ball farther while other will go low and roll. Most people will play steel in a FW for control rather than distance.
  6. I think it really is about money and sponsors. The Sponsors are the ones who front the money for the tournament and the purses. Its the tournaments responsibility to draw attention to the event and to get as much exposure for its Sponsors as possible. They aren't putting a monkey or some other thing from left field out there, they are putting someone out there everyone wants to see and trying to publicized the game.
  7. Erik, You really want to talk with Bill Vogeney. Vogeygolf@aol.com . He moderates the Cameron Yahoo fan club and he and David Levine wrote the Cameron book "Art of Putters". Very nice guy to talk to.
  8. That wasn't me, that was Putt4doh.
  9. There are limited runs of putters covers, shirts, pivot tools, etc. They always end up on ebay, some go more than list but most don't. Most people who sign up for CC, auction off the membership kit and get all if not most of there money back. The limited pre-public release items are now usually limited to 1 item per member because some members would buy a few and then auction them off on ebay for a profit. If the limited items are not sold out to the CC members first, then they go to the public store. On most items, you will end up finding them cheaper on ebay. This is because people with Titleist accounts can buy CC merchandise at their account level discounts. Is it worth $94.00 a year? That's a very subjective question like is a driver or putter worth $300.00? The collector community is pretty split on it too. Some wait for ebay others join out of Loyalty to Scotty and make their money back on things they don't want. I've joined the past few years and felt I've got my money's worth but, its really about how you reason it out. There are probably 1500 CC members and the runs usually are around a 1k per item. You rarely get access to the real Tour products like anything with a Circle T on it.
  10. Hi guys, First post and this looks like a cool place. I'm a Club Cameron member and can tell you what you get: 1) The ability to email Scotty and ask him questions via Garagetalk 2) Read about and see pictures from Scotty projects and Tour visits 3) Preview new Putters before the public does 4) The ability to buy accessories before the public does. Some of these items are more limited than others and frequently members will flip them on ebay for a profit. What you will not get is access to limited or custom putters. They don't sell putters to club members. For a time the restoration and authentification service was for members only but, now its open to the public. When you have a chance, check the authentification online lookup as there are some awesome putters there.
  11. SF Bay Area guy and this site looks pretty cool.
