  1. Sequence... Driver from behind on course, driver from side and behind on range, 6 iron sie and behind on range. Followed by the same sequence in slow motion. Hope this works this time. I know there was a previous post but for some reason I can not see my own videos. Please excuse the double swing post. Hopefully this one will at least get some feed back as I am like everyone else looking to improve my game and any and all advice is welcome. I am working with what I have.
  2. My swing is a little further down on the page due to removing the initial video. Please leave feedback, I am looking for help in my game as is everyone else.
  3. When chipping and pitching, I have finally, after years of trying, have been able get the ball to check up on mid range shots. As I get closer to the green I lose the ability to get the ball to check. One of my usual playing partners is able to get the ball to check on the second bounce or get it to bounce one time and roll out slowly. I have no clue how he manages to do this. How do you make a low trajectory, high spin shot from close to the green(fringe to ten yards off) that will check up?
  4. There is no need to buy a net. Just simply find a way to hang up an old sheet when you feel like hitting a few. Works well for me and a couple of people that I know. In this economy who wouldn't like to save the money spent on a net?
  5. So anybody notice anything? Or is it still to hard to see?
  6. Ok thank you.
  7. Hey are the links still showing up. They have disappeared from view on my phone. I am having serious problems getting videos on the site.
  8. One additional note... This was also the first round played since I had hernia surgery 5 weeks ago. Yes, I'm making excuses
  9. Well I finished my round in at Woods Valley. Had a rough day shooting a 96. I left 8 long birdie putts about a foot short each. Had a tee shot go "in the woods" and it actually took me 4 shots to get back out. There was tall grass and rocks. Was trying to go back towards the tee and couldn't get the ball out, finally did and went in the sand, finished the hole with a 9. Had a couple of doubles and bogeys. I'll take it I guess for the first time playing a course with lots of sand and water and trees. I am capable of playing much better, it was just one of those days. I do recommend the course to anyone in the area as it is challenging yet very fun to play. I will be returning with a better game and WILL play smarter golf and score lower.
  10. This is a new video of my swing at full speed. It is from behind on the range between the 9th and 10th hole today. Ball flight was very nice on this particular swing. Please let me know if the link works. because I could not post my video directly on here for some reason. Thanks in advance for any advice I may get from this. Hope it works better than the original posts and I hope to get some feedback. This is the same swing extremely slowed down. I apologize for the long swing delay, I did not account for the change in speed in my editing. First time using JES for MAC. Club is driver.
  11. So an additional question on the topic. How much does deceleration play in the club head hitting the ground in the wrong spot, i.e. before the ball? I have been chipping in my house all day(yea pathetic i know) from my kids play room into the living room. I have noticed that when I do not worry about hitting the wall on the other side of the living room and continue through I don't have a problem with hitting the ground prior to the ball. Its when I lay off that I have this problem, due to laying off or everything else going bad as well.
  12. What concerns me is what you mentioned, keeping tee shots in play. I was looking at pictures of it and saw water and tight fairways. Is the course short enough to play a four iron off the tee on par 4's and still have a realistic shot at the green? I want to play well and that is my most consistent club off the tee. I know there will be holes I have to hit driver and that is fine, I just want to play smart and do the research on the course. Chas You are welcome and I will surely let you know how the course is. I had never heard of it until the other day when I was invited to play. Like you said seems very affordable and looks like a nice place.
  13. Thank you all for the advice. I know it is not something that can be fixed in a matter of days, fortunantely it was a recent development and I think a lot of it was to do with my weight being on the wrong side of the body and I was letting my hands get behind the ball. Actually I think it all came from me being lazy around the green and not swinging through the ball. Almost as if I have started diving at the ball hoping it would pop up and go where I wanted.
  14. I have been trying to improve my short game and have been doing a lot of chipping. For some reason no matter where I put the ball in my stance(I've tried everywhere) I keep hitting the ground prior to the ball. This is a recent development and I do not know why I have started doing this. I am hitting the ground hard enough that the club is actually bouncing into the ball. I've tried choking up on the club, I've tried different ball locations, I've tried different clubs for chipping, I've tried putting my weight forwards and back, nothing seems to help. What could I be doing that is causing this? Any advice is welcome as I am playing a new course on Sunday with people I dont know any I do not want to be the guy skulking balls over the green. I need to get this fixed ASAP!!!!
  15. Has anyone played Woods Valley near Escondido? If so what is the course like and what would you say the best strategy is for getting around the course successfully with a decent score? Playing Sunday never even seen the course.
  16. So what made you get away from Cobra?
  17. Thanks for the replies. Shindig, As you guessed, I do like the cobra irons and would really like to stick with the brand. I like the S2 Forged but I do not know anyone who has played them or anything similar to them. They appear from pictures to be slimmer looking at address, the S9's are starting to feel big when I look down at them in my stance. As far as the demo day, I already plan on spending a lot of time out there. I would like to see what Cobra has to offer and I was thinking about looking into some Callaway Irons(forged of course). I was in Santa Ana a couple of weeks ago, where is that store located. I know there is the huge Golfsmith just off the highway, is that what you are talking about or is that a different store completely? Thanks for the advice.
  18. I currently play the Cobra s9 Irons and have been using them for the last few years. I really enjoy these clubs as they are designed to make you do just that. I hit them far and straight as advertised. They are truly a huge step over the GTS 2000 irons I was playing. The question I have is where would your next step be in regards to irons. I know the s9's are game improvement and they have improved my game. I am starting to wish I had a little more feel in my clubs. Things like mishits that I can't really tell are mishits, I feel, are causing me to slow in moving forward with my game. By no means do I need a pure blade but would like something that is not so game improving if that makes sense. What do you think? Thanks in advance.
  19. The black shirt is one I sit around the house in. It's comfortable. I spend all day in uniform and like to get comfortable at home. As far as hitting the ball off the toe, I usually hit my irons fairly well not many if any off the toe. Like you mentioned, I do feel like my clubs are a little short. They were a gift and not ones that I chose for myself. I will be posting a better video shortly. I am going to the range this weekend. I'll see what I can do about slow motion.
  20. Can anyone let me know if the video even showed up? I can see it from my computer but not my phone.
  21. There will be better videos following. I was just curious as to what others see and can't find my other camera.
  22. Ok everyone, I apologize off the get go for the quality and location of the video. I have been stuck in my house for days and figured I would do this to not only see what others could see in my swing, but to kill some time. Ended up kiling more time than I thought I would, took me awhile to figure out how to use Imovie. I'm a little MAC challanged. Anyway, this is my swing without hitting a ball(a practice swing unfortunantely). The club is a 7 iron. It was the longest I could go without hitting my ceiling. I tried others!! Hopefully it loads and is viewable. Here goes nothing!!
  23. Ok hang with me on this one. It might be difficult to explain. In this recent two year slump from good golf that I am having, I have started to split my middle finger on my left hand from the way I am gripping the club. I am left handed as my profile says. It will literally split from almost the end of my finger to the base of my nail. I can move my hands around, adjust the way I am holding the club, and yet it still will do it. I can put less pressure, more pressure, take the finger off completely(NOT RECOMMENDED), change to a complete different grip all together, and yet still the split. Would this be a pressure problem or more along the lines of an entire grip problem? This is really aggrivating me because no one can seem to tell me what I am doing, all of a sudden. What grip do you all use? What have you found to be the most effective way of setting your grip, tips and tricks of the trade?
  24. I use either my gap wedge or 56 the most. Its pretty close. Comfortable inside 100 yards with either of them. Just depends on the lie I have.
  25. Don't let the handicap fool you gents.... I have been in a two year slump in getting off the tee. I was down around 8 or 9 for a long while but have been hurt badly by the inability to get to a good playable location off the tee. My iron play is actually the best part of my game. Followed by putting. Yes I am happy with two putt pars but I want my handicap to drop back down.
