I would love to be able to have gone that route. I have too many kids to even think about that now though. But I wouldn't change that for anything.

I've played since I was a young boy with my dad but don't really remember my scores except that I wanted to break 100. I got another set of hand-me-down clubs 2.5 years ago and started playing 4 times a year and was encouraged when I finally started shooting "low nineties." I can honestly say there were at least 10 shots per round that I hit the divot further than the ball, but there was always that "one shot" that kept me coming back. I am definitely better now than I was then and enjoy the game a hell of a lot more now. I still haven't beat my dad though.

New member from DFW here. Been lurking for a few weeks checking out the forum. Seems like a well-mannered forum compared to most. I've played since I was about 9 but REALLY started playing this year. Last year my goal was to break 90 and that happened and this year my goal is to break 80. Finally did it yesterday at a 5640 yd., par 71 course close to me. Shot a 77 with my first double-bogey in 5 rounds on the front 9 (38) and 4 bogeys on the back (39). Missed every birdie putt but scrambled my tail off. Look forward to getting insight and talking this wonderful game with you guys. I've been playing 2-3 time per week and finally bought my first set of clubs (all others were hand-me-downs). Anybody in DFW wanting to meet up and play just let me know, I've got a pretty flexible schedule. Happy golfing to all!
