  2. I didn't read all posts but most. I have to say it goes alone with the whole "I hit x club 4,000,000 yards" thing. Too many people are concerned with how far they hit the ball rather than how they play the game thus why they also have to say well I shot a 85 from the BLACK tees...you shot 85 from the White tees....that means you suck and would have shot like 200 if you played from the blacks like me! I honestly played from the whites with my dad in a tournament earlier this year and it actually was more difficult on his home course than from the blues that I usually play. Brought a LOT of hazards into play that I never have had to deal with. Being a low handicapper and somewhat long hitter, it makes you really play the game, not the distance. I am all for playing the correct tees and also all for playing from different tees to get a different view of a course that you play often.
  3. What I have found is that by taking a weaker grip on my 4H helps to get more control as well as height trajectory to the point that I can literally stop it in fairways and on greens within a yard or so. While I don't carry any fairway woods anymore, only my 4H I do suggest keeping a slightly stronger grip similar to your driver and swinging it as such. Also the best tip for hitting more consistent with good distance...swing easier! Don't try to force it for distance, I would rather have less distance and more control vs. longer distance and less consistency.
  4. Hello everyone, I am new here but an avid golfer since the age of 6. Since moving to the DC metro area 4 years ago I only end up playing in a couple outings for work and when on vacation to visit my father in Arizona. This year my wife has made me commit to get back into things and signed me up for the AM tour. With so much time off there are obviously areas that need tweaking. As much as I would love to use my dad's pro from his club, it isn't very easy to get a lesson in DC from someone in Arizona. Any suggestions on some of the top pro teachers in the area? With a low handicap I want to be sure that I am woriking with someone who is able to help me get even better as I would like to have my handicap down to close to 0 within a year or 2.
