I hear ya. Not a big fan of having any embroidery on the forehead area of the hat. Rough, scratchy and decreases moisture wicking. Especially true for guys with receding hairlines. Checkout 4HeadWear.

Best hats on the market now are machine washable. No need for frames or the dishwasher strategy. checkout 4headwear hats - machine washable, super moisture wicking. SoCalPutz, buy one of these and you won't miss those hats your wife made you throw away.
