  1. Do you still have the Master Built putter?
  2. Persimmon woods are usually straighter and just have a sweet feel. You may lose a bit of yardgage, but it is often worth it for the confidence that comes with knowing you're going to hit it straight when you stand over it. I don't think its a matter of having a swing that's more suited to old clubs, since I have a swing that's not suited to anything, but I keep an old Ajay 4 wood in my bag, and I just know that when nothing else is working, I can pull that out and hit it 225-230 dead straight. My friends like to make fun of me when I pull out the old 4 wood, but I routinely take their money so I think I have the last laugh. Not sure if its wise to instantly replace all your clubs with older ones, but i would recommend keeping a persimmon wood in the bag since you seem to have that much confidence with it. Golf is a mental game.
  3. Callaway HX tour from a couple years ago is the same ball. Can still find them sometimes.
  4. I like to write completely nonsensical words with a fine-tip sharpie. Things like "rutabaga" or "coelom." Or if it's a Hogan Tour Deep ball, I like to write "Give it" right in front of the Tour Deep on the side so when you read it it sounds like it says "Give it to'er deep." It keeps me from taking the game to seriously or overthinking it, and I figure I'm going to lose the ball eventually anyways, and it might make someone laugh when they find it.
  5. I had my right ankle rebuilt a couple months ago, and the injuries and recovery has affected my game in strange ways. I have always had a very fast swing speed. I'm not a terribly big dude (5'7, 175) so I generate power through acceleration and weight shift, and have always averaged 280-300 off the tee. When I had serious ankle problems, I didn't get a proper weight transfer and I started leaving EVERYTHING right. I also lost some distance, especially with my irons. I simply couldn't get my weight off my back foot fast enough to keep up with my swing. Now my ankle is fixed (got some tendons from a dead guy replacing ligaments), my weight transfer is fine, and I've gained back all the yardage I lost. My problem now is that I want to aim everything further left than I should. I just don't feel comfortable over the ball until I've fidgeted and waggled my way into aiming to the left edge. Now that I'm back to swinging the way I should, I miss everything long and left. Does anyone have any mental tricks I can use to correct my sense of aim?
