thanks gixxer. How far west? the only way he will play with a 4some is with the group he plays with during the week. He lives in a 55+ active senior community and they only play with that group
-
i am in raleigh, gixxer. I have talked to him about fast play and He just brushes it off. I do shoot over 100 and i want to get better. When I play more, I can fast play but i think he doesnt remember that i am new to the game. I want to get better where i can play fast ball.
-
That time is for full 18. I have told him that he pace it to fast for me and just gets mad. We are following the group in front of us and he was getting mad that he had to wait for them to go. I would with other ppl but i dont have anyone to go with
-
well last we played it took us about 3 hrs. keep in mind that was with a cart but still shouldnt be that quick. he kept saying in the cart with the club we were using, dont put it away or clean it til we get to the ball or the next hole or even write down the score

good ideas. I have good relations with all of them. wife and mother in law are mad that he does cause the both know that i am still learning and know that he does this all the time even when people he knows and play with regular bases. I am going to try to talk the wife and get out sunday to play if we are not busy or next saturday
-
I started playing about a year ago and i played 18 maybe twice but played 9 many times. The problem I have is that I always play with my father in law. I love him but he is a fast ball player. He worries more about everything else but us playing. He always wanted to hurry up and get done. I talked to my wife and mother in law, they said something and I feel took resentment to it. I want to find a group to go out with here in NC that is more my speed until I get better at. Any advice anyone can give on a place to find a group or do about my father in law? someone told go out as single walker and get paired up that way.

thanks glock, i was actually looking at those. everything i found them ppl seem to love them and give them good ratings.

I am looking to buy a cheap set of started wedges to add to my arsonal. I dont want to spend to much on them. I was out this past weekend and i notice that my short game within 100 yard or just out 100yds is coming up short. Anyone have any recommendations for starter wedges?

i am pretty sure its not a 460cc driver. it says 10.5 on the bottom of the head. its a walter hagen driver from dicks
-
i am not sure what you mean, bad?
-
thats a good idea. i went to the range and thats the guys there were telling. maybe the flex, too short or too long. well is its too short, how can they fix that? i know too long they can cut off some of the length to make it right.
-
it can. i have my own gear. my driving it the only real issue i have. my iron and short are getting better since i have only been play about 4 months or so. just wish i could my driving.
-
thanks guys. i was using my father in laws clubs for awhile before i got my own. his was shorter and i still had the same issue but it was as bad. he club was had alittle weight to it. even when i go to golf smith and try out the clubs they have out for demo. i dont think it to long or short. bowling is really expensive. some of balls alone 300 and bags start out at 100. you only buy gear pro shops but with golf you buy gear at golf stores
-
Hey All, I recently been playing more and I am about to stop bowling because its getting expensive and plus i am about to become a father. that was the greatest xmas gift i got. the driver issue i am having is that i am standing up and topping the ball and sending it off to the right. its not sharp to the right but more like a right turn. i was wondering is there anything i can do to help me fix that issue? the drive i have is a walter hagen from dicks. i think it is to light for more. when i went to demo day here is nc i picked up the R11 and i was hitting straighter and more solid. could it be the driver weight or something else?
-
i am writting all this down so i know what to ask the guys this weekend
-
so the shaft makes all the difference. i am hitting pretty solid but i do send it sharp to the right sometimes. i need to clear it with the wife first but i am heading to golfsmith and talk to them.
-
ok. i will make a note of that take it with me and see what they say.
-
i like ur advice. i am going to try to go this weekend and see what they say. then see i can find clubs online cheaper. i am pretty athletic and strong but not like i used to be. i played baseball when i was 10 and i bowl now. i know that is one much thing in clubs, they are fitted to the player.
-
i am not sure. i can ask next time i there. which will be this weekend. i am also looking at golfsmith right now to see what they have and prices. should i go there or no?
-
good advice guys and thank you. my only things is that my father in law uses those clubs when he comes to visit for maryland so thats y i was thinking of getting my own set. so then when he come to visit, he has a set and i have mine then we can go play. i was talking to the guys at the pro shop at the driving range i go and he had good used sets. if i want to go new, he recommended adamsgolf irons. are they any good? they were really good priced to. a full set from 4-putter was only 250.

I start playing about 3 weeks when my father in law took me to a driving and i was hooked from that point on. I am currently using his travel clubs. I want to get my own bag and own set of clubs. I am a rookie when it comes to what clubs i need. All I know is what he has in his bag. I am looking not to spend to much money on this since it my first set. Should i go through a major chain store like golfsmith or a pro shop? What some of the good companies out there? What clubs do i need? I am such a rookie but we all need to start some place to master the great game. Can anyone help me?
