  1. I just bought a set of Acer XP high trajectory irons (clones of big berthas) from Gigagolf.com. When I was doing my research, pine meadow and gigagolf seemed to be the two most reputable online stores for clones/knockoffs. I chose gigagolf because they do adjust both length and lie of the clubs and I also found the prices to be better if you compare with the same shafts and grips. I really like my new clubs and the purchase was really easy with free shipping. Good luck.
  2. I have been looking at the Ben Hogan Big Ben CS3 driver. I see that it comes in a neutral, draw and fade versions which have factory adjusted fixed weights to help with slicing or hooking the ball. I typically have a slight slice, (starts down the midde of the fairway and ends up on the right edge of the fairway). My first question is does anyone have any experience with the draw or fade versions of this club and how much the different versions affect the ball flight? I am considering the draw to hopefully correct my slight slice, but I am worried about it over-correcting it and then having a slight hook on my swings. Second, when they say "fixed" weights, does that mean that they are permanent? Or would it be possible to get them switched, either do it myself or have a shop do it for me? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I guess my next question would be what qualifies a set of irons as knock off as opposed to a not known name brand? Is there anything specific to look for that would indicate low quality, or certain features of the club that makes them a better club? Thanks again.......
  4. I am currently in the market for a new set of irons. Is there really a big difference between name brand and non-name brand sets. I was originally looking at lower end clubs ($200-400) of the name brands, but have come across some other brands like acer, oxygen, and turbo which are supposed to compare to the higher end name brand clubs, but are a small fraction of the price. Specifically I am looking at the Acer XP Hollow Core Beta Titanium Irons which are suppose to compare to the Callaway Fusion's, and also other Acer clubs which compare to the X-18's and X-16's. All of the reviews of the acer clubs that I have read online said that they are just as good or even better than the callaways - better distance, accuracy, feel etc. Does anyone have any personal experience with non-name brands and how they compare to the name brands? Is there anything specific that I should be careful of with the non-name brands? Any ideas of where I could get a hold of the acer clubs to take them out for some swings? Any advice would be appreciated...... Thanks.
