  2. I have been playing about a year seriously and used niether, although all my frineds use one or the other or both. I started using a gps on my phone, gloflogix, for $20.00 a year, pplus dat acharges. I have a generous data plan, use it mostly for golf. I got it because of a blind shot where I walked to the crest of a hill where I could see the top of the flag. Decieded to go left of the falg, stay away from the club house. Hit the right club, went right where I wanted it. What I didn't see by just finding the top of the flag, was water was to the left. Went in the drink, pin deep! After about 4 months of using the gps, tracks all kinds of stuff, most of which I don't use, too time consuming. I noticed I wanted to start doing layout type shots. In case where I can't carry the bunker, water etc, so I got a cheap range finder. NO bells or whistles. Basic Bushnell. Used it for about two months, gave it a friends son who plays in tourneys. Upgraded to a Bushnell that does all kind of stuff. Love it! Especially when they have moved stuff around or the gps has the old course data. My GPS has given some really inaccurate data on some less than stellar courses. I don't use either one every shot. Let's be honest..on a ggod day I carry the ball with my driver 225 - 240, on a bad day, well you know. If I am on a par 5, 580 yds, I know it is my driver, then my 3 wood, then I figure out what distance is left. Only way I use either one is if I am shotting blind (over a hill, dog leg, etc) or I am pretty close to the pin, let's say
  3. HI I just stumble across this site and signed up immediately. Of all things, I was researching push/pull cart reviews when I found this site. Looks like a great site, hope to be here when I am not on the course. I live in the Inland Empire area, have been away from golf for over 10 years, wasn't really into it so much. Recently went to the range to hit some balls, most to get away from my desk during lunch and got addicted right away. I have been bouncing around with clubs and have finally settled (for now) on a driver, 3 wood, fairwaywood, set of irons and putter. Even busted the bucks for a new bag. After going to play about 4 or 5 rounds, it was painfully apparent I needed lessons, so I went to my local course, took lessons and now try to play 2 - 3 times a week. Have a standing par 3 game in So. Pasadena on Thursday evenings, the rest of the time I am trying to con a friend into playing. My wife loves the fact i am getting some exercise, I am more relaxed. Now I am just checking outt different courses all over the LA, OC & SD area. Score is dropping slowly, but dropping. If you are in the so cal area and want to play a round, hit me up. friends call me a "Golf Ho" since I will drive anywhere and play with pretty much anyone who has the time.
  4. Just stumbled across this site while researching push/pull carts. I just started playing again after 10 years, and have been biten by the bug. have a club in my hand most everyday, Before, after work and lunch when possible. I play a par 3 walking course Thursday nights with the boys, age 16 to 56. Most carry thier bags, and my buddy who is 42, I am 56, laughed when I bought a cheap $20 pull cart off Craiglist, but his clubs go in my bag EVERY time we walk. HMMMMMMMMMMMM, might be an ego thing. I am looking toupgrade the basic cart, want something with 3 or 4 wheels for stability, which is how I found my way here. Funny thing is, my buddy, the youngster has already offered me my $20 back when I get a new cart, cause he doesn't want to carry anymore. The lifting and twisting of picking it up and putting it down, (We both have cart bags) coupled with the bad falling over has made him see the light. Golfsmith has a Tour Tek 3 wheeler for 119.00 plus Tax. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about or had any feedback on this cart? Cool site, great info here!
