  1. u are correct in thinking about +1" for irons. but u may also be looking at 2-4" upright as well since you most likely have a steeper swing plane. the price range you r looking at is tough. my advice is to get custom fit someplace and then look into maybe getting a set that matches the fitting on ebay if u keep your eyes out you can snatch some sweet clubs cheap. hope that helps. good luck!
  2. to some extent this is a push. it's not that jack's competition was tougher per say, but there were more players who could close the deal. tiger doesn't really have that with the fields today, no disrespect to phil and vijay or other top players. tiger is the best putter for par from 15 feet in, no questions asked that is his big thing right now. mentally they both just wont accept losing so that's a push. when it's said and done i believe it will be tiger, but not by much.
  3. if you dont mind a little heavier bag the new nike sasquatch tour stand bag is the way to go. 14 individual club length divider and a multitude of pockets, it's just a great bag.
  4. welcome to the greatest game ever!! finding clubs you like is totally a feel thing. it all depends on what u like. looks of the clubs can be important too but dont let that deter you too much. for beginners anything from cobra is a cant miss, feelwise or looks they are just nice clubs. also anything from cleveland, especially their hybrids i have a cleveland halo myself it's my go to club. i would highly recommend getting fit, in the long run it helps out greatly. hope that helps somewhat, and good luck :)
  5. if you're that set on getting rid of a long iron i would replace it with a hybrid of equal loft over a 7 or 9 wood. i honestly think the results will be better.
