Driver 230-240 3 Wood 220 - 230 5 Wood 195 - 200 4 Hybrid 180 - 190 5 Iron 170 6 Iron 160 7 Iron 150 8 Iron 140 9 Iron 130 Pitching Wedge 120 Gap Wedge 100 Sand Wedge 60-70 Lob Wedge 30-50 I need to work on many things but driver distance is one of them. I hit an old Birdeye calloway diver 11 degrees but only because I haven't found a new one I like. Although I did try the Ping K15 and liked that but out of my price range. Perhaps in a few months.

I went out yesterday, used the 5 wood a lot. I changed my mind I think I'm going to keep it. Scored a 103. Now if I can only learn to use my driver consistantly.

I'm trying to figure out what the best set up is and the more I play the more I realize 2 things. 1. I may have less than average distance 2. The more I use fairways and hybrids the better I score. this is my current set up Taylormade Burner Driver 10.5 225 Yds Titelist 3 Wood 3 Wood 15 200 Taylormade Burner 5 Wood 18 180 Taylormade Burner 4 Hybrid 22 170 Ping G10 5 Iron 27 160 Ping G10 6 Iron 30 150 Ping G10 7 Iron 34 140 Ping G10 8 Iron 38 130 Ping G10 9 Iron 42 120 Ping G10 Pitching Wedge 46 110 Ping G10 Gap Wedge 50 85 Cleveland CG15 Sand Wedge 56-8 70 Cleveland CG15 Lob Wedge 60-10 50 Im thinking of getting rid of my 5 wood and getting a 3 hybrid that I hit about 190yds. It's an Adams a12 Pro Hybrid . I hit that hybrid more consistently than the 5 wood I have now. Seems like a no brainer since the 3 wood I find difficult to hit off the fairway. I just started playing in Sept of last year but I have been playing every weekend and taking lessons from a fiend. I'm scoring around 110 right now. What do you guys think?

this is not possible on a public course is it?

Just wanted to introduce myself and connect with other golfers. My boss invited me to a industry, charitable golf outing at Engineers in Long Island and all it took was a couple nice beginner's luck shots including a nice 30 ft put to get me hooked. I started out terrible it's been two months now and I have been at the range at least once a week if not more. I have gotten better but still a long way to where I want to be. I haven't taken lessons yet but I'm going to soon. I bought myself a new set of Pings G10s that I really like a lot. To learn I bought some Calloway drivers at a garage sale. 2 bucks a piece for 2 11 degree loft, pretty old big bertha's and great big bertha. I plan on replacing them as soon as I feel confident enough. Obviously I need a putter, woods and a hybrid maybe I was going to leave it up to you guys to give me some on advice on what else to get. I have some trouble with the driver I either slice the ball, or when I hit it straight it doesn't go over 200 yards. The Irons I hit pretty ok especially the 9, 8, 7 and 6. The 5 and 4 I struggle with which is why I would like a hybrid. Anyways, this looks like a great forum and I look forward to reading more posts learning and maybe even contributing once day.
