  1. I would second the Sun Mountain C-130 recommendation. I have one and I love it. The other nice thing is it's lighter than most big cart bags because they use an internal flexible shaft system to give the bag it's structure instead of a big semi-inflexible tube like most bags. The other plus to this is that when you travel there is less chance the bag will deform, I had two previous bags get permanently deformed in the airline baggage.
  2. TCCaddie, You are in for a real treat, both of those course are top notch(I played both this past October). Flap is correct, the Dye course is a shot makers delight (one of the rangers told us a few years ago, keep it left on the front 9 and on the right on the back, it was great advice). The Dye course is head and shoulders above all the rest of the Barefoot courses. They are nice, but don't hold a candle to Dye. Regarding Grande Dunes: This is probably my favorite course in Myrtle(we have been playing this every year since it opened). It is always in top-notch shape, each hole is unique and there are some really nice views. I don't know how big a hitter that you are, but if you are one and the conditions are right the 6200 yard tees play a little easy. We are headed down to Venice, FL tomorrow morning and playing the course you recommended on Thursday(Legacy at Lakewood Ranch). I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for your recommendations by the way.
  3. For the first 10 rounds(appx) the spin milled Vokey's will definitely put a hurting on the golf ball, but after that the damage is minimal. If you go to the driving range first and hit a large bucket of balls first, that will help a lot when you get out there with your own ball. The Vokey's are great wedges.
  4. My wife, another couple and myself are headed down to Venice, FL the second week of January. None of us have ever been in this area before and the trip is purely to play golf in warm weather and relax. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We would probably like to keep the drive time to a half hour or less. On another thread, someone had mentioned The Legacy at Lakewood Ranch so we will probably try that. We are going to be able to get 3 or 4 rounds in. any advice(golf or otherwise) will be greatly appreciated. BTW, we are staying in a house we have rented on a course called The Waterford. thanks,
  5. I'm not sure how they eliminate the 3rd player, but my bet would be on Hiroshi and Brian being in the final 2. I really like Josh, and Brian is way too cocky, but I think he is probably the better player over the long haul.
  6. TCCcaddie, Four of us are headed down to Venice in January which is really close to the Legacy at Lakewood. Do you have any other recommendations for courses in that area? thanks
  7. I started with 20.6 and ended with 14.1. This is the first time I have even been able to get out regularly, so I'm hoping I can continue to improve. Unfortunately, it is going to have to wait until next year because the weather has changed sufficiently that getting out is going to be rare events.
