  1. White tees. Consistent. One less thing to think about. Part of an overall effort to keep things consistent ... like holding my head still.
  2. Went by Dick's Sporting Goods tonight to check on the Clevelands and Mizunos. They had the CG 16 Black Pearl on display and they did look good. They are a tad longer than other clubs - which I like. They did not have any Mizunos on display but can order them. For some reason most DSG stores don't carry Mizuno or Titleist Iron sets but the PGA Superstore and GolfSmith in North Atlanta do. I definitely want to check them out - probably the JPX-800s.
  3. Break 88. Determine hybrids or long irons. Putt every day.
  4. Does anybody else uses these ? I have a little "fairway" in my yard about 80 yards long. The balls seem to fly like real golf balls ... just 1/3 the distance. If I hit toward the toe ... it slices ... just like on the golf course. I love em. Let's me get in a lot of hits while saving time and money. Obviously need driving range and real ball to know distances but nice for quick practice.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely give both brands a look !
  6. Looks good. Will keep my eye on this.
  7. Welcome. Great to start that young. I started 4 months ago but am much older. I really like it. Enjoy !
  8. Went to my favorite cow pasture golf course and shot 94. I was OK with that considering available practice time recently. I had not hit my driver in a while so had to back off to settle down. Happy with chip shots. Went for a risky ending on 18 that likely cost me a stroke or two but good learning experience.
  9. I have not searched for blades but I usually give Ebay a try. Good luck !
  10. Yes. That is what I meant made sense ... that ,as Zipazoid suggested, I would likely benefit from a forgiving set of irons at this point more than a set of blades. I was just surprised to see in the stores how many of today's game improvement irons are a lot bigger than my old King Snakes. When I get my handicap down some more, I am definitely headed to a Pro Fitter ... I know right where one is ! Thanks for your advise !
  11. Yes - I meant "forged blade irons". What you said made a lot of sense. I'll definitely keep it in mind. In the meantime, these King Snakes are a whole lot better than I am !
  12. I really just started gold October 2011. I got my sons old set of King Snake Oversized and he got some new Mizunos. I'm shooting about 93 now. When I drop 10 more strokes, I am thinking abut getting some new irons. As game improvement irons now days are much bigger than my King Snakes I wonder if My next set should be more like a set of blades since King Snakes are not that big. Any opinions on that ? Happy Golfing!
  13. I am a Software Engineer. Been in IT for 30 years. I can't believe I just typed that ! Seen lots of changes. I love the outdoors!
  14. Greetings from Georgia ! Followed my grandfather around the golf course when I was a young boy. Loved being with him and liked the game. When at home most of my free time was spent around a lake water skiing and fishing. Many years later, I thought I'd follow my grown sons around and play golf when we could be together. Now I really like. Want to get better but will enjoy the moment. Have a good one !
