  1. A very ugly 87. 6770 yds/72 rated/ 122 slope. 5 fairways, 9 GIR. Almost had a hole in one, literally was hanging on the lip if only the gusting wind would've knocked it in. Bruised my left palm pretty badly last week from lifting weights, started to show up after hole 3 and this caused me to snap hook just about everything after that since I could barely hold onto the club. 32 putts in total, felt I was rolling it a lot better than that indicates, was just way too far from the hole to make any use of that. Can't complain, gorgeous day here in Chicagoland and it's only March 14th! Look forward to getting back in the 70s this summer, got some work ahead of myself.
  2. Started off in college doing internet marketing & studying direct response marketing. Worked as a marketing analyst for a large internet marketing firm for the past couple years. Now, I've left them to work as a consultant to local small business that need help with their online marketing efforts, mostly with regard to paid-search and direct response marketing not the social media stuff that's being hyped lately.
  3. How is Prairie Landings? I've never played there, played a LOT of golf at St Andrews, though. Great place to practice as well.
  4. Hey Guys, Thanks for the warm welcome. I"m in the Schaumburg/Streamwood area. I tend to play Bowes Creek, Bridges of Poplar Creek, and The Highlands of Elgin for the most part, but definitely looking to explore some new courses this season. Was able to golf a few times the past week at TopGolf in Wooddale, love that place. Also got a bucket of balls in at Green Valley off Lake St WHILE it was snowing...gotta love the weather!
  5. Always play from the tips no matter where. If we have someone in the group who's not comfortable with that, they can play whichever suits their needs. Distance isn't really an issue so I'm always going to opt for the tips. Hitting Driver/Wedge on every Par 4, as cool as it is when you first start doing it, can take away the spontaneity and creativity of using a variety of clubs and shots.
  6. Hello Everyone! Name is Conrad, looking to really devote a lot of time to my game this year after not being able to play much the last 2 years due to work & related traveling. I've been playing golf since I could barely walk and look forward to trying to get as close to scratch as possible this summer now that I've freed up some time. Should be fun to discuss golf with everyone on this forum. I've been reading it for years, figure I'd finally get an account and join this awesome community! Can't wait for the weather to clear up around here so I can get to the range and get this 2012 season underway.
