  1. I was looking into the CG14 and trying to compare it with the CG15 and CG16. Im not looking to use it in the sand as of now. Maybe down the road I will experiment with it there, but for now I need to fill in the gap on fairway shots. I think the CG16 (probably what I am going to end up buying) comes with a bounce of 10 or 8. I have to go back to Dick's to see what the options are. I'd like to test them both out before I make my decision. But I cant wait to finally get a gap wedge!!!!
  2. I played again today with my pinnacle balls. I forgot to bring my extra sleeves from my car and lost the 2 in water that I brought. I went on using the Nike PD soft balls that I started this season with. My slice on my driver was out of control. I would like to think the balls added to my slice but, I did have an awful day on the course in general. I could have just been the way I was swinging today. After my last outing (which I played great), I wasn't concentrating too much on my swing, I just did my pre-shot routine and hit the ball. I will be continuing to use these Pinnacle balls and will update soon. But I think for my next box of balls I will try Top Flite Gamers. Ive been told good things about them even before anthony responded here.

  4. Thanks, this was very helpful. I am not sure what the bounce is on my SW but I can see why I hit it better and more consistant than my 60 degree. I do want to get a 52 degree wedge primarily for shorter fairway shots, so it seems I need a good amount of bounce but I do not want too much. Would you suggest something like an 8 or a 10?
  5. I played yesterday with my new box of pinnecle gold balls. The box of 15 came with 3 sleeves of balls that said precision on the ball and 2 sleeves that said distance. I wasn't sure if the balls were the same or not. Either way, I hit the distance balls off the tee and when I used my driver and hybrids I was not slicing nearly as much. It was the first time I felt confident using my driver. New personal best too!
  6. So my game is finally progressing. I am hitting my short irons more consistant than ever. I have a very basic set (Walter Hagen MS2). The only other club i have in my bad is a cleveland 60 degree. I am not sure what the bounce is. It was given to me from a friend who I assume replaced it with another club. I like the club a lot and it is obviously better quality than my $200 complete set. I want to add a 52 degree wedge since I have a 60 and my sand wedge is 56. I have been advised to get a Cleveland at my local golf store. The man working there told me it is much better than most other wedges. Does anyone use cleveland wedges or can anyone inform me on wedges in general? Also, I was told I should use a higher bounce around 12. How important is bounce when hitting from the fairway? What bounce would you suggest?
  7. I got a box of Pinnacle Gold balls and have not used them yet. I read online that they are great for reducing slice and are a great ball for my swing speed (between 90-100). is anyone familiar with these balls? Or pinnacle balls in general? Can anyone recommend any other balls that are designed for that swing speed?
  8. I looked into the Golfshot app and every review in the app store was 5 stars. From what I understand it works much better than you would expect considering its only $30. One person wrote he compared it with his brothers range finder and WHEN there was different results it was only by a yard or 2.
  9. I started golfing last year and I have always used Nike soft balls. I am starting to really see improvements in my game. I played today and had 9 bogeys and 1 par which is huge for me. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on changing which balls I use. I am really looking for a ball that does not slice that much. I was told Nike soft balls slice more because they are low compression?? I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to equipment so any information is very helpful. thank you!
  10. Hello everyone. I found this website a few days ago and have found some really interesting stuff. I just started to get into golf last summer and really want to improve this summer. I bought a Walter Hagen MS2 set last summer and it has been a great beginner set so far. I am finally looking to add different clubs to my set. I am looking into a 52 degree wedge considering my SW is a 56. All of my shafts are steel I believe. What are the differences between steel and graphite shafts? Advantages/Disadvantages? Does one hit further than the other? Any information would be great!
