Hello forum . Im Jarrod from Massachusetts. 21 years old, been playing since I can remember. Of course being 4 years old, there wasn't much "playing" needless to say. In the past 7 years or so, I would play maybe 5-10 times a year with my father. That in itself should fill you in how well I played
. The one thing I did have was decent power, and would now an then actually make contact with the ball and send it for a ride. Of course then my short game slaughtered any possibility of even making bogey. Finally was taken to a instructor for only an hour, and while changing my grip, stance & swing, at long last allowed me to make actual contact...sometimes..Since I did not have any friends who played golf, I only had my father who did not hit the range on a regular basis, so I never had to much practice. Now finally after two months, a couple of my friends began playing. One has played golf since he was a kid, was on the golf team at school, currently shooting around par golf. The other a complete beginner who somehow in the past 2 months, can actually play a decent game for someone who has just started. Luckily they own a decent sized field in which they built a generous size bunker, and a green (not good quality by any means of course). So almost on a daily basis, me and my friend who just started playing have began practicing for hours at a time. At least 3-4 hours a day being golf oriented to learn something new. Whether it be me going alone to the range and earning my free bucket after 10 buys in a period of 3 days, or hitting a PW or 9 in the makeshift golf field on their property. We have bought at least 1500 balls in the past month purely for my friends property (losing quite a few in the start
). Now after a couple months of practice, I can finally control my shots consistently, and with pretty good range.
Now im purely addicted to the sport and simply cannot get enough. My bedroom floor (and my friends) are now giant putting greens, and I have multiple golf nets setup in my yard. A bit overboard I guess eh?
