  2. Thank you stretch for that post!! Also i plan to hopefully visit David Orr this winter. I attended a college that was not far from where he works and regret never getting over to see him. Luckily my brother now is going to the college i graduated from and am planning to set something up with David when i head down there during my off season. For starters I'm not disagreeing with you on anything. Again when it comes to putting i don't have facts and I'm only trying to learn and understand so what I'm about to ask is just to help myself understand and learn about how to strike a ball when putting. if you strike a putt below the equator with a rising AoA and 1-2* of loft wouldn't that cause the ball to launch into the air slightly?
  3. I have studied much more about the full swing than i have about putting. That being said I want to explore more about putting and learn as much as I can about it. Lately I have been experimenting with the putting stroke. Ive been reading about all different styles of teaching. I haven't figured out what the best approach is when teaching/ applying basic fundamentals of the stroke. The latest book I read was the 3 degrees of putting by Michael Breed. I have always thought that the ideal way to hit a put and get it rolling as fast as possible was by hitting the ball above the equator. Breed agrees with that but suggests to do it with negative loft. I would like to see what you all think about putting as well as see if anyone can share any testing they may have performed or have evidence of what the ideal way to strike a putt and get it rolling as quickly as possible instead of skidding and then rolling.
  4. Your swing is looking much better after a month of work!! Good job!! I would say that the reason for the hooks is because the lower body is moving laterally and the upper body is staying back. The upper body need to move a little lateral with the lower body as the arms drop in the downswing. At the moment the hooks are coming from the upper center stating back and the right arm being too disconnected in the downswing which causes the hands to become active in an effort to speed up the club. Make sure in the downswing as the upper center and lower center move laterally the right elbow comes down and into the rib cage so that the arms are connected and moving with the body. I will try to get on a computer soon to give you a visual.
  5. Thank you both! And thank you for your help Mike! im really likeing the changes I see. I actually feel more preassure in my right leg and foot when i feel the "stretch" at P4
  6. OK all so here are a couple vids after i have been working on feeling more stretch in my right side at P4 (top of back swing) my ball striking had been great! I am starting to get the ball to start a little more consistently in 1 direction. Obtaining this "stretch" has also appeared to steepen my hips as well!! All in all the changes have only made things better and more consistent. I think i still need to work on tucking my pelvis a little more under through the ball and also the neck tilt at address as Mike had suggested in his last post. But thank you for the help thus far!
  7. Thank you very much for your compliment! I have actually been working on steepening the hips so i will post a new video in another day or so and we will see if the club position changes as you mentioned. I have also been working on the short game a ton especially around the greens (chipping, pitching) I attended an AimPoint class towards the end of the golf season this past year and then unfortunately broke my ankle not to long after it...long story short i never got to really practice it and have started this season by doing so..so hopefully this season will result in lower scores!!
  8. Mike I will be taking new video of me trying to accomplish the "stretch" and post it in the next day or so! Thanks for your help.
  9. Thank you for the compliment! Can you clarify? its kind of confusing. You say achieve flat wrist through impact but then less wrist before impact. As for flex. I just got fit at a place called Izett near my home. They are really good and have a slightly different way of testing than most. as oppose to fitting off of swing speed they load test the shaft and how it moves in the swing. I got fit for shafts that freak out at 6.0. For the last 3-4 years i fel as though i was over fit. I played project x 7.0 for about a year and then got dynamic goldx-100. i was also fit into a graphite design Di8x driver shaft.. all of which i think attributed to my decline of playing good golf. I couldnt feel the head of the club and lost all feel.
  10. Anytime. Im pretty new myself. i joined about a year ago but just recently started to use the forum. There is tons of good information here and just as many good people. A great place to learn! Good luck to you as well.
  11. Looks great! Job well done on both parts!
  12. Got it thank you!
  13. So to clarify when your saying im "flexed over". I need to feel more stretch in the right side durig the back swing and then the same through the ball?
  14. I would get fit at the closest golf facility and see what their suggestions are. Its hard for us to say since we don't have much to go off of. Fitting golf clubs has many variables. It would be more valuable for you to go to a professional and get their opinion after they use a launch monitor or allow you to hit a few different types of shafts.
  15. Many variables go into it. Depends on the type of change and how often you can get out to work on it. After a year and a half i finally feel pretty good with my swing. I worked almost everyday on it. I also "revamped" my swing and rebuilt it from the ground up.
