  2. Where i live i do not a have a place around me that has mats, thank god, lol. As a avid driving range attendee i refuse to hit it off mats, i feel like its inconsistent. But maybe I'm just bias haha
  3. i had the same problem and still working through it, i could kill the ball out of the rough but not so much off the fairway. My solution to the problem was moving the ball up in my stance maybe a foot or two behind my front leg so i would like the post above said i would sweep the ball and forced my self to keep my head down so i would not top it. Since i moved the ball up i noticed good improvement on the range, since that is all i have done since i made the change. I would recommend going to the range and giving it a try. Hope this helped
  4. Alright here is my dilemma i recently visited my local range in an attempt to find a problem hitting my high irons (3,4,5,6). The problem I'm finding is either I top the ball, so the trajectory is a low line drive and goes about 150 yards ( 4 iron) and in the other case i hit it of the toe so it does just about the same thing except the vibration in unbearable, especially because i just broke one of fingers. I did attempt to fix it by keeping my head down, so i stay down on the ball and I positioned the ball towards the heel of the club before i would swing. I received mix results i would make quality contact maybe once out of four attempts. In later inspection of the divots i noticed i would dig the toe a lot deeper then the heel, i think this is because I'm standing up in my swing. So please if you have any thoughts on the problem please leave a response. And another question, should i purchase a new set of clubs because i believe the clubs have some variable in the problem. I say this because i have had my golf smith clubs since i was in eight grade and now in my second year of college so i think its time for an upgrade. lol Thank You
  5. i am currently working on my mid iron contact, i have played golf only four times this year, but have went to the range close to ten in a attempt to re gain my consistent contact with my irons. During the last two or three games i've played i notice a would blade the ball and/or hit it off the toe of the club, so at attempt to fix this problem i purchased the stickers that you put on the face of the club that tells you where contact was made. If this does not solve the problem i may resort to video taping my swing and if only may talk to instructor on solutions to the problem. Progress- I did attend a range this morning in between finals and notice that I'm pulling my head and some times incorrectly shifting my weight making me blade the ball, yet I'm still curious on why I'm unable to hit my 3/4/5 irons worth a lick.... I may invest in some new clubs (i know, i know its my swing not the clubs)since I'm still using the same irons i used in middle school(golf smith generic brand). **** if you have any ideas on how to improve my swing feel free to shot me a personal message*** thankyou
  6. Personally it depends, the first hole i always take practice swings mostly to loosen up and get the blood flowing. But after the third or forth if i am doing well i rarely take practice swings with my drivers and irons especially if I'm going straight at the flag and not doing anything special. On the other hand my chips, flops and other approach shots i like to get a feel for before i attempt my shot and putting I a believe it is vital to take practice strokes. So in closing do what ever you makes you feel comfortable, because you make the best shots when your relaxed .
  7. i looked on the web site and was unable to find it, probably did not look hard enough lol..... but thanks for the post and your input thanks for the post, yeah i planned on taking them for a test drive per say and after a vast amount of research i could find a good amount of decent clubs, but i have always been drawn to clevland.
  8. In advance i'm new to this forum, so if this in the wrong place please just message me and i will move it... But any way i have a friend that is selling his cleveland cg16 tour iron set for around 350 dollars, i would say say the condition from 1-10 are 8.5. In closing would this be a good deal? Thank you
