  1. Big M your point is well taken. However I got the sg3 for just under 200 on ebay, and the main reason I did not want to go with the Igolf was they had almost no courses in my area mapped. Mabe you have more mapped in your area. The idea of having to map courses myself seems anoying, plus when I am playing a course for the first (mabe Only) time it becomes usless. SkyCaddie maps the courses by hand while most other places use sat photos to map them. Dont know if this makes a diffrence but just seems to me to be a less acurate way to do it. But what every you choose arnt golf gadgets great. P.S. Did you read the golf digest column on used golf balls? You may want to think twice.
  2. I dont get the complaint about sky caddie and the yearly rate. even iff you play crappy golf balls it still cost less then 2dozan balls to get all the courses in your state. I looked at all the units and golflogix was the 2nd choice but now you can get the golflogix for under 200 bucks so I think it would have won.
  3. I like the look of the saddle shoes. I know kinda traditional. Can't stand the look of the tennis shoes. I am by no streatch a traditionalist when it comes to clubs however CB hybrid and 460 cc driver all the way lol so I guess I am a contradiction. If you wear the tennis shoes do you notice that big a diffrence when walking? I wear saddle and walk all the time, mabe I am missing out huh?
  4. Hey Eore I notice Hawks landing is your home course! I live in milwaukee and want to play at hawks view and hawks landing what are they charging for 18? How is the course? I think Hawks landing is one of the courses being used for the badger state games this year.
  5. If your just looking for a lower trajectory why dont you try the aldila NV I have it in my R5 was having a problem with the baloon ball with the stock shaft so I threw an aldila NV in and bam perfect.
  6. Seriously find yoruself a custom club maker and try the Maltby MMB, you can even have them made at golf galaxy (but I am not sure I would trust the kids working there to build my clubs) they look very similar to the 67s but are more forgiving. not to be a shill for the componant companys but the reputible ones do make fine equipment.
  7. Mabe I am missing the point but isnt the burner the bombers verson of a driver? It has a draw bias lighter shaft, lighter grip, longer shaft, all to increase speed and distance. If you buy one then put a heavier shaft and shorter shaft into it why dont you just buy an R7 or some other driver?
  8. Ok I hate to admit it but I love the look of the Maltby MMB muscle backs, the combination crome and satin finish in a muscle back is just hot, plus they are an awsome feeling club, forgving as a CB with the look of a Muscle!!!
  9. Its a shame your locked into golfsmith with that gift card, proshop wearhouse .com has (check my spelling I suck at spelling) has TM R5 drivers for 99 for my money cant go wrong I have been playing one for 3 years and just bought anouther one before you cant get them anymore so I have a back up! Forgiving and long!
  10. swing weight is a mesure of how heavy the club head end will feel it mesures the balence point on a 14 inch fulcrum is what it does. so you can add as much weight as you want to the grip end and it will change the scale a bunch will it in actuality change the feel of the club? Depends who you talk to a lot of people are going to MOI club fitting
  11. Realy? Thanks I did not know it was a scientific device? your amazing! Ok I am just teasing you. What I am telling you is that most club makers dont belive butt weighting (thats what adding a heavier grip is) has any affect on how the club plays so in essence you can get the scale to read what ever you want it too but your not realy changing the playibility of the club so in essance your fooling the scale. It will make the club read lighter on the sweing weight scale but in static weight it will be heavier. Now if you add a 3 lb grip it will make the club read like an A0 on the swing weight scale so is the club lighter? No u just fooled the swing weight scale
  12. Yes the grip can affect the swing weight but it realy is just foolin the scale. If you tape a penny on the end of a straw and then hold it by the other end of the straw the penny will feel pretty heavy. Now tape a quarter to the other end and the penny will not feel as heavy. Has the weight of the penny changed? that being said butt weighting can help (certin people swear by it) others say it is bull, but from what I have seen it does help certin people make more solid contact. If your trying to reduce overall weight I would sugest using a lighter shaft rahter then a ligther grip
  13. I guess you would have to call me a semi profesional club maker, I make clubs for people who get refered to me, but I dont seek out new clients. Making golf clubs is not rocket science. However that being said there is an art to it. spend some time on golfworks.com they have a msg board there for club makers that will help you out if you get jammed up. Use quality componants golfsmith, golfworks are two of my favorites. Use quality shafts, weight and frequancy match them for sure. A cheap spining tool is a nice thing to have but not a nacessity. Depending on if your going to MOI match or swing weight match you will need various peices of equipment for this. Starting out it is probobly best to swing weight your clubs this is the easier (In my opinion) a decent swing weight scale will only cost between 60 and 80 bucks and last a life time. If you just starting out you can kinda fit yourself for how long your clubs should be by following some basic charts you can find online using your wrist to floor mesurment. As far as frequancy matching and weight matching the shafts if your not sure your going to take it up as a hobby I would buy somthing like a true temper black gold (depending on if its a good fit for your ball flight) Because they are frequancy and weight matched already (however they are heavy so if you suffer from distance or want a lower swing weight you will have to look at somthing like TT dyna lite). They are expensive but cheaper then buying all the tools you would need to do this to other shafts yourself. Get a lie board (10$) and some impact stickers and lie angle fit yourself then just take them somewere to have them bent, a machine will run you 400 bucks or so, but to have them bent at say golf galexy will cost around 40 bucks. wow I just rambled on sorry if you have any questions just msg me with your email and I will help as best I can long post for my first one ever huh?
