  1. i think there is. For the last year i was playing a TM Burner superfast 2.0. The shaft was really long, about 3/4" longer than any other driver i tried. For some reason when i got fitted they told me this was the right driver. Well, i became totally inconsistent with my drives. All over the place with a real bad draw to the left. I sold the thing. It was far to light for me, and far too long. i am then bought a ping g20 and my driving game is way better. Its just a better club for me. Forgiving, the right weight and length in a stiff tour shaft. So yes, i believe there are certain drivers that if fitted properly will improve your game.
  2. I am looking for a cheap low spin ball for off the tee. I am a higher hdc player right now but thru lessons i have improved my irons. My driver however is getting really high spin rates and the ball isn't always as straight as i would like. I don't usually ever hit a Pro v off the tee because i actually notice a different ball flight compared to any junk top flight in my bag. Can someone suggest a budget ball that is know for low spin off the tee?
  3. Lets say you find a club that you are just very comfortable with. Could be an iron but in my case a driver. Everytime you swing you are confident and hit the ball well. So well all of my other drivers are being sold. Would you consider buying a backup to that club? (same club) in case while traveling or playing its gets destroyed? I am just curious. The driver I have is from 2011 so it may not be available for much longer as the technology changes.
  4. Currently swinging a Taylor Made Burner superfast 2.0. It seems and is a bit longer than other drivers. I am not a great golfer and I think the light weight and longer shaft is causing bad drives. I have a terrible draw to the left (right hand swinger) up to 40+ yards off center to the left every time. Driver speed is around 91-97 mph I am looking at replacing the driver with something more forgiving that I can take lessons with.. Calaway Xhot 10.5 stiff shaft Ping G20 10.5 stiff shaft any comments on either of these? I hit them far better on the monitor today but am looking for advice. I like the adjustability of the calaway but the ping feels good too even thou it has no adjustability.
  5. the club face seems to close and the ball goes left.
  6. I am looking for any suggestions to help better control my club face at impact. I am currently working with a golf pro and he said my swing is really good, but on video we saw that when the club hit the ball the face would turn and i would drive it left. This happened with my drivers and irons. My grip is pretty solid, not weak, but something is happening where the club face is turning. Any tips or tricks ?
  7. I can currently get a Nickent Men's 7DT Hybrid 3H for about $50 brand new. Since my set of burners didn't come with a 3 iron, i am considering this club to fill the spot. Can anyone tell me anything about this club? worth while for that price?
  8. First let me say that i can't hit a 3 or 5 wood. Never been able too, but I am taking some lessons to help with that. I want to be able to hit these clubs as i think it may help my game on certain courses that call for it. Currently i hit my 3 or 4 iron in these situations. Since this club will be used only a few times a year, i am looking for something reasonable (under $100). I currently have Taylor made irons (Burner 2.0), Burner Driver 2.0 driver and Cobra S3 driver, but have literally, farm and fleet Dyna 3 and 5 wood which are pretty weak (don't laugh). any suggestions on where to start? should i look for a similar shaft as my drivers? currently swinging "stiff" shafts on the drivers.. also, am i looking for a fairway wood to do it all or do i need a 3 and 5 wood?
  9. thanks, looking at the 910 tonight. Local golf shop has it for $229 which is still a little pricey for not such a good golfer.
  10. Thanks for the reply's. And yes, with the stock driver i don't feel like i know where the head is going. I will look into a re-shaft, depending on price. I have found some other drivers for about $120 that i seem to hit better (Cobra S3) etc... I hit the new Titliest 913 pretty well, but i am not good enough yet to spend $400 on a driver.
  11. Greetings from Atlanta, First let me say, i am not a great golfer by any means, only golfing about 2 times per year. HOwever, i am going to golf alot more. I am also in the process of taking lessons. On a normal day, i score in the 90's which isn't too bad for me. My main problem is my driving. I am not consistent, and may hit one or two good drives on 18 holes. Mostly they are going left into the woods. I bought the Burner 2.0 Super fast (regular shaft 10.5) driver after getting fitted. During my lessons i found out that i am swinging my driver about 103 to 106 mph which is quite fast. The driver is way too light for me IMO and the ball is going all over the place. I don't want to screw arond with my swing or speed because i am being told that my form is good. My question is, i think i need a driver with some meat to it. Can you suggest what i should be looking for? brand, weight etc...? any opinions would be great.
