I am not following what you are saying here. Can you explain again? I'm trying to visualize this but not sure if I'm getting the right picture. Looks like I am going to have to force myself to be disciplined at the range and ALWAYS use alignment sticks. What is the best way to use the alignment sticks? I’ve seen one place along the foot line and then another placed around the ball and I have also seen just one laid down at the midway point between your feet and the ball, pointing at the target.

I’ll more than likely just stay with whatever length my shaft is currently, which I believe is 46. I’ll double check this before installing the new shaft. Really great illustrations though. The +5 degree driver angle pic really gives me a good idea of what is supposed to be happening.Really like those bugle tee's. It's 6$ for one tee though? I can defintely see the benefit as it takes all the guesswork out of how high/low your teeing the ball. I still havent looked for a head yet. The shaft arrives tomorrow. I am not even going to start hitting at the range for another couple weeks, so I have some time.

Hey guys, I appreciate any reponses or tips beforehand. I seem to always have an issue of properly getting lined up for driver/wood/iron shots. I use the typical method of picking a spot 6 inches to a foot in front of the ball that is along my target line and then lining my club face up to that spot followed by my feet, body etc... somehow I always seem to manage to get lined up right of my target. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any tips for working on aligment or drills/games that might help me. Its hard enough to hit good shots as it is, but its very frustrating to hit a great shot and then question whether or not you were lined up right of the target line after your ball ended up in the tall stuff. I want to get to the point where my aligment is solid enough that I feel confident when I hit a shot to the right, I know it was due to my swing and not my alignment. Sometimes it almost seems like my eyes are playing tricks on me. Ill pick a spot, walk up to the ball line up my club face, feet etc and look up and I can tell ( over time I've started to be able to spot this more ) that I am aligned to the right. I also hit a draw and have had problems with a big hook at times, so not sure how much that might play into things.

1 .)As for my spin numbers, I honestly didnt get a number on what they dropped to :p that would have probably been good though. After he said the spin stats would be off, spin went into the back of my mind. He just made the comment that my spin rate dropped a good amount with the stiffer shaft. 2.) The Graffaloy is 46 inches, but havent had it installed yet so not sure if anything would need to be cut? Not exaclty sure how that works. First time I have gotten a shaft installed. I agree with the lower loft. I'll have to see what kind of deal I can get on a head. I started teeing the ball lower to try to keep from my drives ballooning, but before that I did not have this problem of hitting it low off the face I dont believe. After I have the new shaft installed, I will go back to teeing the ball somewhat higher to make contact in the upper quadrant of the club face. What determines how high you tee your drives? Preference? Driver head size?

I had my swing monitored yesterday and I came back with an average of around 106MPH swing speed, the high being 111MPH and low being 101MPH and ball speed was around 145. My launch angle was between 14-15 degrees a lot of the time and when I really hit it off the face square and flush, I even got some around 17 degrees. My spin was in the 4000-45000 range but the golf pro said the spin rate might not be 100% accurate. However, when I hit a stiffer shaft, my spin rate came down and my launch angle dropped to around 11.5-12.5 degrees. So, I pulled the trigger and bought the Graffaloy Pro Launch red shaft stiff off of ebay. Only 24$ new so it was a great deal. The golf pro stated that this shaft in stiff flex would be stiffer then my stiff shaft that came custom in my TM Burner HT driver ( Can’t remember the shaft off the top of my head ). Granted I’ll still have 10.5 degree loft head, but I think this will definitely help my ball flight and dispersion as well. My current shaft has a low kickpoint while the Graffaloy is mid-high. Another thing I noticed is that when hitting a stiffer shaft, I gained 5-6 MPH swing speed on average. I didn’t hit a TON of balls with the stiffer shaft, so not sure how true that will hold. I also had a problem with hitting the ball to low on the driver face. The closer I was to quadrant 1/2 the higher my launch angle became.

I had the putter cut to 31 inches from 34. 31 inches is pretty short but in my best posture with my arms hanging I’m still even shocking up on the 31 a little bit. Feels much more comfortable now and my head feels much more over the ball. I didn’t have to use and Tungsten powder, because surprisingly, the putter actually feel like it weights heavier at the bottom then it even did before. I guess this is due to it being that much shorter? I thought the opposite would happen as technically you are losing weight, but I guess the weight is distributed differently now. Anyway, feels good and can’t wait to get on the greens.

I've been clocked anywhere between 100-114MPH swing speed, but 108-109 would be the high end of an under control swing for me. So hoping for 25 extra yards is expecting too much, including roll? You are definitely correct on the current amount of roll, its not very much at all. Now that you mention it though, the 250 yard carry seems like what I remember seeing on the swing monitor last time. I gathered 280 from a drive I hit last year on a straight away par 4 where the ball plugged in the fairway and didnt roll and inch. Accoring to my GPS calculating the distance I had left to the hole I had carried 285 on the drive. I do see what your seeing though. No offense taken on the 50$ lol, I was looking at some shafts that werent quite that much that were said to lower ball flight, specifally the one mentioned earlier in this thread ( grafalloy prolaunch red ) which I found for about 30$ new on Ebay. I'll post some stats after I hit tomorrow morning.

Anyone have any drills or unique ways that they practice putting inside thier house? I would like to start sharpening my putting game before it gets warmer out around here.

Ill take a look at where I'm hitting it on the face. I am happy with the distance for the most part, I can carry 285 and that is plenty, but I figure why not try and maximize the distance. I feel like with a more penetrating ball flight, I could easily gain 25 yards in total. I also have a little bit of trouble when its windy out and where I live it is windy quite often. I currently hit a stiff shaft.

Thanks for the reply. My swing speed is on average around 107mph. I can't remember my exact spin rate but I know it was on the high side ( I believe it was around the 4500 area ). Not sure of my launch angle but I am going to hit on the shot monitor tomorrow so I will have more exact details on swing specs. I will definitely take a look at those shafts that you mentioned. I have naturally high ball flight anyway, so the 10.5 degree is defined rely working against me as you mentioned. I'm just looking for an improvement at the moment. I'll take a look at driver heads as well. Right now only looking to spend about 50$.

I need to have my putter shaft cut from 35 inches to around 33 inches because its too long. I know I will need to add weight to re-gain the same feel after I shorten the shaft. I have used lead tape before, but had problem with it falling off. I was thinking about going another route and putting Tungsten powder down the shaft and corking it. Can anyone share thier experiences with doing this? Anything I need to know or be aware of? Never done it before so any comments welcome. Also, I have a center shafted putter. Will doing this effect the balance of my putter head etc...? Thanks!

Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum. Just some work background. I work in a call center as a Telecommunications Analyst. I basically maintain all the phones in the center and keep the customer service agents up and running. Spent 4 years in the Navy working with phones on a carrier as well.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my driver where my ball flight is just too high. I am currently swinging a 10.5 Taylormade Burner HT and no matter what I seem to do, whether it be lowing tee height etc... I am hitting moonshots. I had thought about dropping from a 10.5 degree loft to 9.5/8.5 but I dont want to spend the money on a new driver. Is there any way I can just replace the shaft to lower my ball flight? I understand that you want the majority of your distance to come from carry, but the height of my tee shots is hurting my distance in my opinion. I'll drive a ball and have it plug into the fairway or even back up at times due to the height of the shot. If I get roll its not much at all. Any suggestions/recommendations?
