  2. thank you for the warm welcome. hopefully i can read on here on how to not hit my irons fat and to not blade or duff a chip from around the green lol
  3. Played my local course again this morning and shot my best round so far this year with a 101. Broke 50 on the back nine with a couple pars and my second birdie of the year. But I had a snowman following the birdie and ended up shooting a 47. Would have been nice but I shot a 54 on the front nine.
  4. hey everyone, my name is chad and i just wanted to introduce myself. im from a small town in western pennsylvania. little bit about me, im 28 years old, started playing golf about 12 years ago in high school and continued playing into college. Then i stopped for a few years but decided to get back into this year. im looking forward to reading a lot on here and trying to improve my game.
  5. My first time out this year was about 3 weeks ago and i shot a 103. Didnt think it was too bad since it was the first time i played the course. The name of the course is Tom's Run for those of you from the western Pennsylvania area. Yesterday i shot a 105 at a local course (Chetremon). I had my first birdie of the year on the front nine and shot a 53. Then i started the back nine with par, par, bogey and thought i might be back in the 90's, but then i went 7,9,6 on the next three holes and finished with a 52 on the back. Im going out again tomorrow morning to the same course and hoping to improve on the 105 and get back in the 90's
  6. Hello all, my name is chad. I'm new here but have been playing golf since high school (I'm now 28). I've been playing a set of Walmart clubs I bought new around 12 or so years ago and normally shoot anywhere from mid 80's to mid 90's for a round or a 100 if I'm having a bad day. I've always had friends that had more money than me and have had newer, fancier clubs. I don't consider myself a good golfer as I only play 5 or so rounds during the summer these last few years but I have always wondered if a newer set of brand name clubs would help my game which leads me to my question. Would you recommend a set of ping g5's or machspeed's? A little info about my golf game, I rarely use my driver, although its getting better. I usually slice it. So I tee off with my 3 iron. I think I hit my irons pretty well but sometimes I think I have trouble aiming or I'm pushing the ball left. The ball flight is straight with my irons, just usually left of the green. Maybe i have an out to in swing or something. My short game is hit or miss. Sorry for the long post, I know clubs don't make the player, but I'm curious if a newer name brand set would help me. Thanks for your opinions Chad
