First off, Hi! New to the site, long time golfer.
I have been playing Ping I20(green dot) irons for about 7 months, prior to these, I played Ping G2's(black dot). Spent the entire time working on "adapting" to the I20's
My iron game has been all over the place, more recently I've developed a pull/hook, most shots missing about 20 yards left. Have also struggled with toe hits, though most of the toe hits would at least fly straight, flush/center hits...left.
Today, I decided to dust off my G2 7 iron and took it to the range with me. Immediately flushing shots with it, ball mark dead center, felt like hitting a stiff, golf ball sized marshmallow compared to the toe hits off the I20's
I switch back to I20, make the same swing, still out toward the toe, and a good 10-12 yards less than the G2.
Now I know the obvious answer is to go back to hitting the G2's, but I would rather figure out what is going on with the I20's
Is there really that much difference in the head design, shaft flex or both?
any clues?
