  1. Never left so many birdie putts short... had a great round, but still thinking of what it could have been. Everything was firing, except for the flat stick.
  2. 76!! I seem to have been "stuck" at 78, 79 for weeks now. I can start off great, like last weekend birdie, birdie, par, par...then WHAM! pull a tee shot on a par 5 and card an 8 Today was a par fest, with the par 3 being the culprit, but managed to avoid any double bogies for the first time in months. It was a scramble kinda round... did a good job getting up and down, which sure help the putt count.
  3. Yesterday... rained out today :(
  4. Sunday: shot a double bogey and birdie free 78. Could not sink a putt to save my life Had 7 Pars in a row on the back 9, never thought I would find myself complaining about Par. :)
  5. So I put 3 rounds and a couple range sessions through my freshly bent i-20's... Perfect. I can't explain or understand why, but the first thing I noticed after several swings was the club appeared to lay better, making it much easier for me to get lined up. So far not a single left OB shot. I'm back to making contact more toward the center, and solid. My 20+ yard left miss is gone, in fact, I'm having to retrain myself to not aim/line up so far to the right.
  6. Kudos to Ping for a fast turn-around time. Clubs arrived yesterday, was looking forward to hitting the range this evening but the weather just took a turn.
  7. By far one of the best and easiest to apply "tips" I've ever tried. Have always had a problem with proper weight transfer and right knee kicking toward ball.... problem solved!! bravo sir...thanks!!
  8. Played my home course today in Comfort Texas. Shot 77 Have been struggling recently with hooks/pulls(missing a lot of greens), dusted off my old set of Ping G2's for this round and got my mojo working again. Putting left a lot to be desired, but I was more pleased with seeing my iron play straightened out. Shot of the day came on the par 5, 16th hole. Hit a good drive into the wind, leaving meat 247 out, honestly didn't think I could get there in 2 with the wind, but caught the 3wood flush and straight with the ball landing on the front third of the green with an uphill, right to left 20 footer. Gave it a good run and ended up with a tap in birdie. Which seemed fitting considering all the 2 putts I had throughout the round.
  9. The G2's have the old style Tru Temper 'R' and the I20's have CFS 'R' Cap is according to about a years worth of scores kept with GolfShot
  10. Switched based on the fitting session prior to buying them, but I have made some swing corrections since. The fitting recommended more upright lie based on the sole tape and marks left from the lie board. Seemed to work at the time, but I do know my game had considerably gone south after I'd eliminated what used to be a controlled fade. Just walked in from the course, took my old G2's out and didn't hit a single pull or hook. Shot 77, down from 89 last time out with the I20's and lots of missed greens and a few tugs into the water or OB. Thinking I'll be sending them to Ping and adjusted back to black.
  11. First off, Hi! New to the site, long time golfer. I have been playing Ping I20(green dot) irons for about 7 months, prior to these, I played Ping G2's(black dot). Spent the entire time working on "adapting" to the I20's My iron game has been all over the place, more recently I've developed a pull/hook, most shots missing about 20 yards left. Have also struggled with toe hits, though most of the toe hits would at least fly straight, flush/center hits...left. Today, I decided to dust off my G2 7 iron and took it to the range with me. Immediately flushing shots with it, ball mark dead center, felt like hitting a stiff, golf ball sized marshmallow compared to the toe hits off the I20's I switch back to I20, make the same swing, still out toward the toe, and a good 10-12 yards less than the G2. Now I know the obvious answer is to go back to hitting the G2's, but I would rather figure out what is going on with the I20's Is there really that much difference in the head design, shaft flex or both? any clues?
