Been lurking here for months now and love the site. So I figured where better to come for some advice!
I'm 56, just took up golf 2 years ago. Breaking 100 fairly often now and recently had some serious lessons that was to include fitting and adjusting my clubs. My irons, it turns out (Wilson ProStaff high MOI) are cast and apparently not adjustable for the lie. I was told I need +2°. My irons are also off spec by 2° so I'm 4° off for the lie I should have. Even the loft is off by 3° or so. The length of my Wilsons measured OK but I had already installed extensions.
So here's my question
..... The pro can set me up with 6 Ping G15s fitted for me, P-5i - for well less than $400. I already have a Ping Tour 56° and 52° that I acquired from a friend. It's a price I can live with but are there any recommendations for cheaper but decent irons? Or similar priced but better options? I did hit the sample Ping 7i as well as mine in the short time I played around with it. Kinda thinking that I went cheap once already, got what I paid for and it's time to move on.
I'm thinking I pretty much answered my own question here, lol, but I may make a trip to Edwin Watts just for good measure before getting on the horn back to the pro. Thanks for any input!
