  1. I've been playing around with the baseball grip as well and like it. When using the overlap I played my irons shots forward - ala Ben Hogan. I've noticed with the baseball grip I have to play the ball back closer to the middle of my stance. Is that typical when changing grip styles? It works so I'll do it but was just curious ....
  2. Thanks Clearwaterms, he didn't SAY new but I assumed they were. Interesting then, as I was at a Ping Demo day at the school and that they'd say 2° adjustment, hmmm. There's another demo day near my home on Friday - I may just mosey on over there and see how they size me up and and what they can do for a deal vs what has been proposed to me already.
  3. Thanks V45. I'll see if Watts has them and check 'em out ('bout the same price that I can get the G15s for). I think I did see where the heads were cast though, which I take to mean they can"t tweak the lie(?). How important is that at my level? I'm wanting the next set of irons to last me a good bit and only change up my driver in a year or two. Although, I can envision some graphite shafted irons on down the road.
  4. Been lurking here for months now and love the site. So I figured where better to come for some advice! I'm 56, just took up golf 2 years ago. Breaking 100 fairly often now and recently had some serious lessons that was to include fitting and adjusting my clubs. My irons, it turns out (Wilson ProStaff high MOI) are cast and apparently not adjustable for the lie. I was told I need +2°. My irons are also off spec by 2° so I'm 4° off for the lie I should have. Even the loft is off by 3° or so. The length of my Wilsons measured OK but I had already installed extensions. So here's my question ..... The pro can set me up with 6 Ping G15s fitted for me, P-5i - for well less than $400. I already have a Ping Tour 56° and 52° that I acquired from a friend. It's a price I can live with but are there any recommendations for cheaper but decent irons? Or similar priced but better options? I did hit the sample Ping 7i as well as mine in the short time I played around with it. Kinda thinking that I went cheap once already, got what I paid for and it's time to move on. I'm thinking I pretty much answered my own question here, lol, but I may make a trip to Edwin Watts just for good measure before getting on the horn back to the pro. Thanks for any input!
