  1. Ok I played the course today and here is my yelp review. 4 out of 5 Stars only because of the service that this course provides. They pick you up from the parking lot and drive you and your bag to the pro shop. You get free range balls and there are a bunch of practice balls on the chipping green. The staff is professional. All of this deserves 4 stars. However this course is not my cup of tea. It was a rather monotonous layout to me. The bunkers everywhere shape the fairway on where to hit your tea shot on every hole. Kind of boring. A lot of carry needed on holes of course with bunkers guarding them. This plus the greens being hard and fast means that if you land it in front of the green you end up in the back. Of course putting toward the front of the green it is severely sloped and a hard two putt. I get it. Unless you have payed the course a lot you need to know what part of the green to aim your approach shot or you will have a nearly impossible up and down if you miss. The slope of the greens makes it very tough to get up and down if you miss on the wrong side. I was kind of bored after nine holes and couldn't wait for the round to end. The only saving grace was that with the Barona card it was 64 bucks instead of 80. 120 regular rate to me is way too much. I enjoy the Golf Club at Rancho California, Eagle Crest and Mount Woodson much more than this course and I sincerely doubt I will be back.
  2. Being an older player and not flexible I don't come anywhere near to a 90 degree turn with the shoulders. How important is it to get a 90 degree turn? I remember there was a senior tour player that had hardly a shoulder turn at all and he did quite well. Any players with little shoulder turn but had power and how did they achieve it?
  3. Anyone try any of these devices and gained any clubhead speed?
  4. I shot a one over par at the Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrieta, CA my personal best for that course. I had three bogeys and 2 birdies. 3 putted the second hole from 12 feet and had two chips to about 5-6 feet that missed. So close to being under par but yet so far. I think I have too much anxiety on short putts and need a shrink or more practice!
  5. You confront doubt. You confront nervousness. You confront decision. You confront finesse. You confront power. You confront anxiety. You confront confidence. You confront awareness. You confront arrogance. You confront joy. Most of all you confront your being.
  6. Unfortunately I couldn't get out there. When I do I will update the thread.
  7. Over rated or great? Going to try it out today.
  8. Thank you. I like the right knee going forward instead of at the ball that was one of my faults.
  9. Of course every golfer wants to hit it longer but my driver is acceptably long for me but my irons do lack distance. How does one compress the ball with a shallower angle of attack than a steeper one?
  10. I am a picker of the ball but have been trying to be more consistent and take divots and am struggling to do so. I am playing well for me anyway score wise but my irons in particular are many times thin. My driver and fws are usually very good. My path is usually inside out and shallow and I hit a draw. I can hit a fade if I want to also by exaggerating an outside in path. What I have been working on is a slight lateral bump of the hips to get my low point of my swing in front of the ball. Also trying to get my hands more in front of the ball. I think that by leading with the lateral shift and lower body it will happen. For me it is about finding something that will work as I am playing around with a braced front leg or a 50/50 weight distribution and then the lateral bump. I need more weight on my front foot at impact and more clearing of the hips. Anyone care to help me on compressing the ball and taking a divot would be appreciated.

  12. Hello I am from San Diego and take advantage of the great weather here. I am a tennis professional and have coached over 80 national and locally ranked players. I grew up on the east coast and trained and coached at the Port Washington Tennis Academy at the same time as John McEnroe, Mary Carillo and Paul Annacone (current coach of Roger Federer). I also play golf, kayak fishing, trikke (www, trikke, com), and stand up paddle boarding. I also used to be a professional chef and competed in BBQ competitions and yes Phil's BBQ does suck! I am a three handicap but struggle with my game like most players. My issue is that I come in on a too shallow angle of attack and hit a lot of thin shots. Working on this with my tour striker pro and trying to get my hips to work more efficiently. Here is my tennis website http://www.JeffSanDiegoTennis.com I hope to contribute here and also to learn.
