  1. If you are looking for swing advice, here it is: Book a lesson at golf galaxy. They have video analysis for $30 a lesson. I saw a pro with a great track record, named top pro in the state a while ago, but it just messed me up. One lesson @ GG and it already helped. The pro @ GG said he likes it there better becuase it's inside, benefits and year round. The thing he liked the best was that its easy to teach when the student can see themselves. I made another lesson as soon as I got home. Also they send you the video to your email address. THUMB UP!
  2. But the thing is it's not painful to swing a club. It's painful to the touch and if I move it all the way back. I just didn't know if because of the strain, it wasn't possible for me to provide as much power as I could previously....
  3. Over the past few days I have been wondering what the heck is wrong. It seems I am getting good contact (moreso with my irons) and the ball is getting good height but not just carrying. I normally hit my wedge 120 and my 7iron 150, and i gauge distance based of thses clubs.....but lately, i can barely hit my wedge 100 and my 7 iron 120-130. I tried to focus and see what the hell I was doing wrong, cause it still felt right. Anyway, on Sunday and MOnday I had a long match of wiffleball, especially pitching. My shoulder is very sore to the touch but not so much when rotated. OK to the question: Now I know the shoulder is a big part of the power, but could a mildly strained or fatigued shoulder cause this lack of distance? Thanks! I was perplexed on what I was doing wrong.....maybe this is the answer?
  4. Ok appreciate the help. I didn't even realize I was picking it up before impact. I will make sure tommorow at the range to keep my heels in the ground until after impact.
  5. So you mean rotate my hips further on the backswing? and yes the swings are similar to when it goes left
  6. http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13991 Thread with swing videos. No range footage, sorry.
  7. Sorry I don't have range footage, the camera is built into my laptop, so I figured it's better than nothing. My swing isn't much different with a ball in front of me, I try to discipline myself to swing the same at all times. Ball flight problems: The ball just goes left. It doesnt start straight and hook left, it starts left and keeps going straight. The divot can also prove that. It's like my body is facing left, but in fact everything is square toward the target, so I know my problem lies in my shoulders. Both Face Views are with an 8 iron and are different swings. Face View1: http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1190 Face View 2: http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1191 First 2 Swings Side-By-Side: http://www.swingacademy.com/sbs.aspx?sbsID=112 Down-The-Line Swing: http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1192 Thanks! I have a camcorder back home. When I visit home before returning to school I will grab it, but I figured this is better than nothing!
  8. Thanks, I went to the range, unfortunately not before watching this video, and I hadn't practiced all weekend... Divots were very chunky and still very left. Not good contact....but i plan on going tommorow until I get it right. I will work on the above tips, as well. Thanks
  9. Thanks, so when doing this slow, at what point should I start the shoulders? Is it when the grip of the club is almost at my right thigh? Thanks!
  10. So after a range session, I can look at my divots and see my problem. The divots face left, but because I am oopening the face not everything is hooking, the slice and hook cancel out *some* of the time, most of the time it's more of a slice. I asked for some advice from a pro there, and he said my shoulders are opening too early, and my swing is coming outside > in. He said drop my hands before my shoulders open. I tried but really just couldn't get the feel for it. Anyone have any good drills they could advise, it's been a huge problem. Thanks ds

    Blisters??!

working on some new things recommended to me from a lesson I took. Developing a blister on my right hand (i am right handed, my non glove hand) On my pointer finger, but the skin didn't break, but it was still very uncomertable when it started to form. Any way to rid of them fastest, and best ways to prevent them (2 golf gloves?)
  12. Started on the range. hit 3 balls with low iron, high iron, and driver. Immediately he found the problem and knew how to correct it. My problem. I was addressing the ball perfectly. My divots would be aiming left and the ball would dive to the left. My problem is with my shoulders moving before my hands. I am currently working on bringing my hands down to around hip level before my shoulders fly open. Also I never really rolled my hands over so I have to work on swinging out and rolling wrists over. I went to range afterwords and tried working on it but didn't have much more success.....but practice makes perfect
  13. And I will have video as well, as it is part of the lesson package. The instructor seems to have some great credentials as well, anyone familiar with him? He teaches out of Olympic Hills, in the suburbs of Minneapolis.
  14. INteresting
  15. A far superior and experienced golfer than me, Dad deserves something fun he can still utilize on the golf course. Anything you guys recommend?
  16. I had a similar problem with my woods and driver would it would just die down to the left. I was swinging outside > in and the clubface was extremely closed. Both caused my horrific ball flight.
  17. Could be that you are swinging outside > in Try keeping your right elbow almost dug into your side on your backswing and bring it inside and swing out
  18. What is that stuff strapped to his arms? Some sort of training aid?
  19. Thanks everyone for their advice. I was able to start relaxing, swinging easy and making contact. I still wasn't hitting the ball cleanly. Luckily my Dad came into town and he helped instantly. Something was wacky with my right elbow, and he said to almost exaggerate digging it into my side and trying. Hit my best shot yet with my Callaway Squarewood. Can't wait to play this weekend
  20. He claims he isn't swinging his arms?
  21. Thanks, but just to clarify, start with the ball center height in front of my left foot? I will see where the driver scuffs the grass..... My swing for driver/wood has really been affected by the spring of softball and no golf :(
  22. 56 around 100.... 9 iron around 140 And also, what degree is referred to as gap, sand, lob... I have a 56 and 60 degree wedge, which are those? Also a "wedge" in my Ping i2 set, not sure what degree...pitching wedge? Thanks
  23. The way I tried to remember it was to try to hit the top of the ball before you hit the ground (just imagine it and try to hit down on it)
  24. Thanks, will try, once it stops raining around here. So tee the ball low, near the center of my stance for a start....? Also, the correct ball height should be 1/2 a ball length above the top of the driver?
