Hello all,
I just recently came back from a break from golf (about 4 months) and have sunk back into some old habits. I take the club back on a decent plain, usually little too inside but not terrible IMO. But at the top of my swing I do a weird wrist thing where before I come down I cup my wrist, the club goes behind my head, then I work real hard to get back on plane.
My boss at the golf course I work at said that I have strong hands on golf club, which I don't know if he is referring to grip or grip pressure, etc. He played in college and says that I could be solid if I quit making myself work so hard to get back inside. I played today with super light grip pressure and fired off a 38 (yeah!) 9 hole. My playing partner said my hands looked quieter today than usual.
My question would be, what do ya'll think my problem is? My top theories are my grip pressure and my back swing being to quick without a good pause up top (therefore maybe the cup is me catching the club). Let me know what ya'll think.
Thanks.
