One other note the R Flex 64g V2 HL stiffness profile is Butt 256, Mid 6.4 and Tip 24.

As for the weight I also have a 983K 9.5 and the shaft is a titleist 4560 62g and I can drive the ball as far or even slightly farther however besides using in on my driving range I have only played 27 holes with it. I am planning on going in the next 2 days to a reputable club builder. If my shaft is more of a mid launch which I think it is I probably lean toward the 64 V2 HL. I also think as I play more my swing will improve and the 64 will fit me better for a longer period. However the clubfitter may have other ideas. Thanks

I have read that you need a softer tip to get a high launch shaft. Just wonder what my current shaft is compared to a V2 high launch 6700R. My current shafts specs tip freq. 786 butt freq 241. I did the wizard on the UST website and it recommend the V2 High 6700R that is 64g. I saw the 53 and was wondering if that would be to wippy and thought the 64g would be good longer as I improve my swing speed.

I was told that with my club head speed (mid to upper 80's) that I may get more distance with a high launch shaft. My driver is a titleist 907 D2 that is 10.5*. The shaft is a spec grid 67 R flex that is more mid launch. If so I was possibly looking at the USt V2 64g R flex high launch. Thanks for more info.

57 gram driver shaft 10g's lighter opinions please
steve617 replied to steve617's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just had the new driver for a couple of months my old driver is a 983K with a titleist 4560 R shaft and its 62g. I am going to get my swing analyzed. With my new 907 D2 I am about 10 yards or so shorter than my old 983K with the 62g shaft. -
I am going in a couple days to have my driver swing speed tested. I think its only in the low to mid 80's at best. I went thru the wizard at UST and from the facts that I think it had recommended me to use the 57g R flex V2. My current driver is a Titleist 907 D2 with the spec grid 67. Just curious if the 57g shaft would be good for me. Anyway just wondering if anyone here swings one that light. I will no more after I go to my LGS and have my swing analyzed. Thanks

WHat would this lighter V2 shaft do for me?
steve617 posted a topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My old driver Titleist 983K 9.5* has a Titleist 4560 shaft. From a search I found it is 60 grams and 4.7 torque and listed as a regular flex. My new driver 907 D2 10.5* has a Aldila made for Titleist shaft and it is 3.9 torque and 67 grams shaft. I can hit my old driver about 20 yards more. I have never had my swing tested but 2 guys said probably low to mid 80's. I was thinking about getting a new V2 shaft for my 907 D2 and I used their club selection wizard and it came up with a 5050 57g 3.7 torque. I figure that I could gain my 20 yards back due to the weight. Of course I realize I need to get my swing speed acurately tested before I get my club reshafted. Thanks for any comments. -
Just curious what is the difference between the regular V2 and the V2 high launch. Anything besides of hitting a higher trajectory.

adams a3OS boxer or Nickent 3dx ironwood
steve617 replied to miller72's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have heard the boxer was a very good hybrid however I have never used them. As for the Nickent 3DX I have 2 ironwoods 1 is a #2 17* 3DX GenX which is an older version. It is a reg shaft and the shaft is made by UST. It is my best club in my bag. I have been tempting to buy a newer version but I wonder why. I just bought a 3DX #5 26* with a UST V2. I only played one round with it and maybe with 4 or 5 balls with it. So far I really like it. I am not a big swinger so I got reg flex shafts in both. My next will be a 3DX #3 then a 3DX #4. I like the Nickent because they are good quality clubs and you can get them on ebay at a very good price. -
What new club did you get for Christmas?
steve617 replied to steve617's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have never heard of the Niblick. I did see one a couple weeks ago with the cleveland wedges at Dick's. I thought it was a new wedge line. After reading it I was intrigued when I seen a 37* (about what my 8 iron is) thought this may be great for bump and run. Very intresting club would love to know more about it. -
I got a Nickent #5 Hybrid 26* with a V2 shaft.

Wondering if anyone here practices swinging with a Medicine Ball. It seems to be a good way to practice my hip rotation and build some strength. Just curious what weight ball you all use. Thanks

I boguht a new Titleist Drtiver a few weeks ago and I was telling a friend that the Torq is 3.9. Its a regular flex shaft and he says if I sing too hard it may get some twist. I think my swing speed on my driver is in the mid 80's just curious if I should be concerned about the torq. My intentions is in the next few weeks is go to my LGS and have my swing speed tested and if I need to I may get the driver reshafted. Anyway thanks for advice on torq. Steve

I have heard in cold weather to use a lower compressed ball. I was wondering what temp should it be when to start playing a softer ball. I was playing a Callaway HX Hot but am switching to another ball probably a Pro V1. Thanks

I really like my other 2 hybrids. The are my easiest club to hit just as long as I dont over swing. I am not a great long iron player and plan to eliminate my 5 iron with the 26*, I think it will be good on some par 3's one thing I have noticed they land very softly when hitting into the greens.

Last night I bought another new Nickent Hybrid. Its a 26* 5 and what I like about it it has the V2 shaft. Oh it a christmas present. I have a Nickent 17 2 ironwood that I love and I have a 21* Nickent 7 wood. The new 26* will replace my 5 iron. Just curious if anyone here plays a 26 hybrid. Thanks for the info.

Just curious besides 1 degree what difference would be between a #3 20 degree ironwood and a #7 fairway utility wood.
-
Just curious if any of you all buy used Pro V1's online. Who has the best prices on the better quality ball. Thanks
-
I have really grown to like my hybrids a lot and just tonight I bought another well its going to be a Christmas present from my wife. I got a Nickent 4 ironwood 26 degree. Oh the one I bought tonight has a V2 shaft can't wait to hit this will replace my 5 iron. I also have a Nickent 2 ironwood 17, and a Nickent hybrid 7 wood 21 degree. Just wondering what all hybrids you all carry. Thanks

Inexpensive Christmas Golf Gift
steve617 replied to steve617's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
So far looks like Pro V'1s. He actually owns part of a knife company and has made his own divot tool and probably make a groove sharpner. (I'll have to ask him about that. -
Don't know if this has been discussed. I am looking for some ideas on a inexpensive golf gift (below $50) for a golfer that has about everything in his bag. Thanks

I guess I am closing my clubface. I really try to concentrate on having a loose grip which I think too loose could cause this.
