  1. Post # 8 second vid tells me how you just can't get comfortable over the ball. You are doing a bunch of things that we all do when trying to figure this out.For some reason people on golf forums seem to think that 6 or 10 or 20 or whatever number of written lines of commentary should be enough to sort a golf swing out when 1000's of books and vids over decades has failed to do so.Lowering your hands, raising your hands, getting closer to the ball ,getting further from the ball aren't the things you need now. You need to be at least aware of what pros think about and do which appears effortless but are actually pre-conditioned moves.I would post a gripping video but admin.deleted it and blocked me when I did it elsewhere....your grip is wrong and your wristy takeway is wrong.....all the best.
  2. I see, this Tiger swing should be ignored....nothing the OP can learn from it.
  3. Quote: To be clear, @MiniBlueDragon has a lot of lower body action in his swing. It is not "arm swing only" as you mentioned earlier. It's not really action he needs but initiating drive, that isn't there.
  4. MBD....if at the top of the sing you don't feel tension on the inside of your back foot then getting back to the left side with driving hips and legs is going to be unlikely. It does not matter Sergio doesn't do it,we mortals need to do it.Square up that right foot and turn the left out more.If there is some kind of physical problem with this try dropping the right foot back a touch. You need lower body drive to initiate the downswing. Frankly I would be surprised if you can feel that tension as things stand now.
  5. Sorry my friend ,but it's best just to accept TW's swing, period....leave the other stuff to Sean Foley
  6. billchao...this Erik & Dave's site and student, they want to give miniblue the instruction on how to do this.If I make suggestions I get blocked from the thread.
  7. To be honest, it's not a good idea at this stage of your development to critique Tiger Woods.I think you should note that TW represents what is correct and follow that .
  8. It is clear he has an arm swing only. The trick is to tell him how to change this and get some leg drive .
  9. You seem to have gotten rid of the right knee and hip sway-how did you do that? Also at the 11sec mark it is hard to see,but is your right wrist bowed....that is to say at impact.
  10. The trick for instructors and students is to explain and grasp how to make the weight shift to the back foot without left hip and knee sway.
  11. Weight on the forward leg as impact is approached is undeniable ,it is a given in golf teaching.
  12. My feeling is the takeaway is the hard piece to grasp,if you can get that the downswing will follow naturally.A takeaway that involves a coiling action rather than a sway and lift and tilt.A takeaway that works the upper body coiling against a lower body resistance building torque.
  13. Like so many terms/concepts in golf they are more involved than a one word description.
  14. You were right to get some hands on instruction. It's interesting how we perceive our own swings thinking we are doing what pros are doing. With regards to your left knee and hip on the takeaway, compare it to Tigers.Tiger's don't dip, look how level they stay.
  15. I was watching Pettersen at the Aussie womens open, she is wearing shorts and you can see the leg action perfectly...very interesting.
  16. You also might try the left hand low technique .
  17. You should know about this stuff Abu3baid
  18. Try holding the club in the palm of the right hand with the grip running along the lifeline with the fingertips holding the club...then just marry it up to the left hand using a ten finger grip....it will easiest if you get the right hand on while the club is at your side.
  19. saevel125.....ok, so Ben Hogan wrote 19 pages just to fill up space.Frankly, your hostile approach to golf discussion makes me think there is no need for us to exchange viewpoints.
  20. The two acknowledge best ball strikers ever are Ben Hogan and Moe Norman. Both had unusual grips.Hogan wrote 19 pages on it in his book and Norman had a right hand palm grip with the club running along the life line ,it's important. In the Ernie video he is getting his left hand correctly in the first few seconds of the clip.
  21. What do you think Ernie is doing in his pre-swing set up?
  22. saevel125...what you may or may not know is that I am banned from threads for voicing my unpopular opinions...two threads so far.
  23. Quote: I had too many shanks and just ugly misses Abu3baid...."shanks"!!!.....not just a shank?....this means you need a grip review.
  24. Pretty good stuff MBD...I see an arm swing,...no leg drive whatsoever,...I see a dead straight right leg when at the top with weight on the back right heel,(I get no leg drive from this position either when I try it).If you are copying Hogan you know the hips make the first move on the way down as the club just finishes reaching the top....need to shorten that swing as well. These are my main observations ....oh and your left wrist/forearm at takeaway from address rotate too soon,if you had a wrist watch on we should not be able to see the face until after the hands get past the right thigh.Arnold Palmer said if you get the first two feet of takeaway correct-you've got it.....anyway as I say these are just observations.
  25. I don't know if this 20sec Ernie video speaks to you at all?
