  1. 1) 3 iron, I hit it off the tee quite a bit, especially the par 4s here are relative not as long as the course in the US, I also hit it more accurately than my woods. 2) Sometimes I carry 3 and 5 wood, sometimes just 3 wood n a hybrid but...cont. in #3 3) I don't like hybrids they look strange but newer ones are better so I plan on replacing an old Kasco I got from my dad cos it was too stiff for him, and might get the new Adams.
  2. Just joined today, saying hi from Jakarta, Indonesia. Went to Seattle University, class of 03, unfortunately haven't started golfing back then Now back home in Jakarta, many courses around here, but mostly playing at my home course, looking forward to joining some discussions and hopefully/definitely picking some tips from the seasoned golfers here
  3. When I was trying to break 100, my aim was to play even bogey +1 per hole, that simply means I shouldn't play too aggressively. On narrower holes, I'd tee off with my 3-5 irons, I seldom hit my drivers. Also a simple course management, I know I'm weak hitting anything shorter than 80m so I try to leave about 100m for my approach. As for putting, I practice lag putting as so that I won't have too many 3 putts. Chipping n pitching, I usually practice the strokes in my backyard as for me as a beginner, the problem wasn't really distance control but rather the smoothness of the swing. When I got the thing consistent n not jerky (ground, topped...etc) I started playing better. Now my target is to break 90 consistently, recently I've been hitting between 91-93. My best score was 88, and that was from a 42 + 46. I'm lacking consistency, and I'm working on it :) Gluck.
  4. Thinking of getting either of thse as well to replace my CG10s which are forgiving but isn't giving enough spin even on full shots. Right now I carry 2 CG10s 52 and 60, medium bounce....I might decide to get 54 and 60 for my replacements.
  5. Bridgestone Tourstage ViQ older model, Japanese spec with NSpro 950s. Quite forgiving but I start to feel they're a little too light now, might get heavier shaft for my next set.
  6. More custom fitting option will be nice....
