  1. Thanks iacas. ncates00: Do you have the FSX simulation software on your GC2 and, if so, is there a monthly fee?
  2. Wow, the mevo looks impressive. That was an interesting and well written article. It looks like mevo doesn't integrate with any simulation software currently. The mevo website doesn't mention whether they plan to integrate with a simulation package in the future. Do you think they might integrate in the future?
  3. Hello, I am thinking about buying a golf simulator. I've spent a lot of time researching this decision. My finalists are ProTee, SkyTrak, GC2, or GC2 with HMT. If money wasn't a factor, I think the GCQuad would easily be my top choice. SkyTrak is the cheapest, but I don't think I can tolerate the delay between hitting the ball and seeing the results. I also intensely dislike their business model with their monthly fees. I'm currently leaning towards ProTee. Despite all the time I've spent on research, I haven't been able to find any data comparing ProTee to other launch monitors. ProTee vs GCQuad would be ideal, as GCQuad seems to me to be the gold standard. Ideally, the tester would have ProTee and GCQuad set up at the same time measuring the same shots. It'd be informative to compare spin rate, carry distance, apex, etc. It'd be nice to see some wedges, some mid-irons, and some drivers. I wouldn't expect ProTee to match GCQuad, given that ProTee is less expensive. But without having any idea of what the ProTee margin of error is, I'm going to have a problem pulling the trigger. Have you seen any comparisons like this on the internet? If so, please reply with the links. I wonder why ProTee doesn't include any specific claims about accuracy on their website. Do you think I should be concerned about this? It seems to me that lots of potential customers would have this same question. Thanks for your replies.
  4. Hello, Could I get your opinion regarding private golf courses that provide the best value for the money? Something between Wilmington NC and Savannah GA. I'd like to keep the annual dues under $4,000. I'm not interested in a Pete Dye course. I've played a few Dye courses and did not enjoy them. Thanks!
  5. Greetings, Are there any common design characteristics of golf courses designed by Greg Norman? I have never played a Greg Norman course. I've played three Pete Dye courses and I found that they all had railroad ties, difficult bunkers, grassy mounds, optical illusions, and were very difficult courses. Thanks for your opinions!
  6. Hi boogielicious, Thanks for the reply. The Inner Game Of Golf does appear to be old enough for me to have read it in the late 80s. I am not sure if this is the book I'm remembering or not. The reviews on Amazon do not seem to mention enough left brain/right brain or id/ego type jargon to be the correct book. But I intend to see if I can check this book out from my local library to be sure. The book seems like it might be a worthwhile read in either case. Thanks!
  7. Greetings, I'm a brand new member. Since it seems that I can't post in the "Reading Room", I am going to try this forum. I hope that doesn't annoy anyone. Around 1987 or 1988, I read a book about how to occupy your mind during the swing. It advised thinking "start" at the moment that you begin your swing. Then think "top" when you get to the top. Then think "hit" at the moment that you hit the ball. The author discussed the functions of the two hemispheres in the brain. He/she said that silently thinking about these words at generally the appropriate time was sufficient to occupy the analytical side of the brain. Thus occupied, the other hemisphere is free to do what it knows how to do (make a good swing). Anyways, I cannot for the life of me recall the name of this book nor the name of the author. I've googled this to death and it's driving me out of my mind (double pun intended... driving... mind... sorry!) thanks
